Peace Valley Sanctuary - Alcyone Suite
Peace Valley is a beautiful retreat for nature lovers, spiritual seekers, and meditators. The 70 acres are surrounded by Ouachita National Forest with walking trails through woodlands - crossing creeks with beautiful views of mountains and occasional gentle encounters with our peacocks. Our spring fed pond is home to fish, frogs, and birds. A shared screened-in porch faces East with expansive views of nature and the sound of a nearby creek. Peace Valley is a sanctuary providing sacred serenity of nature’s harmony and beauty that will restore your soul and renew your spirit. Be a star gazer! There are no city lights at Peace Valley; therefore, the stars and planets can be seen and enjoyed. Gather around the fire table on the patio for a cozy evening under the stars. The swings on our massive oak provide the perfect venue for some quiet time with the views and sounds of nature. Guests can explore the acres of grounds including the spring fed pond, wooden swings on the ancient oak tree, a unique 16 ft. geometric sculpture overlooking a pristine bubbling creek. There are outdoor benches to enjoy on the adjacent patio of the Telos Landing building. Guests may use our kayaks, rowboat and paddles for a leisurely float on the Peace Valley pond and are welcome to assist in feeding our fish every morning and our peacocks every morning and evening. There are two small dogs that belong to the owner, but are not allowed in the guest quarters. Information is available for fun activities to do in this area: Find a treasure to take home by mining in the nearby quartz crystal mines, hike in the surrounding Ouachita Forest around Little Missouri Falls. Rent a canoe to float the Caddo River, or enjoy a day in Hot Springs for a mineral bath, massage, and spa treatment. There are many diverse hiking trails around Peace Valley Sanctuary. Visit nearby Collier Springs a world class deep water spring in the forest and take a picnic lunch while you enjoy some of the purist water on the planet and take some home to enjoy later. Experience Lake Ouachita in nearby Mt. Ida and swim in the crystal infused sparkling clear water or rent a boat to explore the many islands sprinkled throughout this huge lake. Peace Valley Sanctuary's land joins the thousands of acres of the Ouachita National Forest. There are forest animals that sometimes roam on the property at night like deer, fox, bear (rare), coyotes (rare), skunks, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, hawks, egrets, eagles and others. Wild animals are shy, we do not feed them, the dogs will sometimes bark at them, so they are usually just passing by. The dogs will bark and chase one of these animals occasionally at night, but there is NO prolonged barking. There is no public transportation near to Peace Valley Sanctuary. We have free parking in the paved area in front of our large lodge. In spring, our small flock of peacocks (3) will sometimes call as part of their mating rituals. They are quiet during the night, unless surprised by a new sound. There are 2 small dogs that sleep in the owner's house, but may be out and about on the 70 acres of property during the day. They are very friendly.
