We are passionate about the mountains and all there is to do and see here in both summer and winter and we love sharing our experience with our guests. Les Carroz d'Araches is a traditional alpine village at an altitude of 1200 m consisting mostly of chalets in a family atmosphere. The gondola leaves from the village centre and takes you directly to the Grand Massif in both winter and summer. Owing to the altitude and the quality of the snow, it is possible to ski down to the village during most of the winter season. The ski and mountain resort area known as the Grand Massif (Connected villages: Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt and Flaine) features 265 km of ski runs for all levels between 800 and 2600 m offering superb conditions for a winter sports holiday. It is among the top 5 ski resorts in France and snowsure due its proximity with Mont blanc. The beginners ski area is located above the gondola terminal at an altitude of 1800 m, is extensive and gives inexperienced skiers plenty of sun and great views. There are many shops, bars and restaurants in the village, a wellness area + pool called Aquacime with fitness facilities, an ice-skating rink in winter, an equestrian centre, a children's playground, a skate - pump park and a cinema. The village has supermarkets, a post office, a petrol station and cash machines. Most of the ski instructors and shopkeepers speak English. An ideal family resort with numerous activities for children during school holidays (winter and summer) offered by the event team. There are excellent facilities for children in Les Carroz including play areas, a day nursery (Souris Verte - Green Mouse) for toddlers age 0-3 years and Club Loupiots for youngsters age 3-12 only 5 minutes away. In addition to winter sports, this accommodation is in an ideal location for other activities, especially in summer: hiking/walking, cycling/mountain biking, horse-riding, fishing, swimming, mountain climbing, tennis, an aerial forest ropes course, an outdoor pool, canyoning, rafting, caving, mountaineering, paragliding and even an 18-hole golf course in Flaine (and several other golf courses less than an hour's drive away). The guide and tourist offices are located in the village square in front of the apartment. Les Carroz is one of the closest accessible villages of the fine Grand Massif ski resort to the A40 motorway from Geneva or Paris. Air/road: Geneva is the nearest airport. About 45 minutes drive by car or taxi. You can also rent cars or take shuttle buses. Road: exit 19 from the A40 then 15 minutes up to Flaine/Les Carroz Train: TGV to Geneva or Cluses in the winter Winter equipment for cars manadatory when accessing the ski resort in the winter.
