This classic Dolores house has been updated for your comfort. Well located for Motorcycling and biking adventures. Hunters find plenty of places to look for game nearby. 2 wonderful bedrooms and two outdoor decks give you plenty of space. The fully loaded kitchen can accommodate almost any cook's needs after a day of adventure in the beautiful Southwest. This home has 2 bedrooms to sleep 4. (Queen beds in both rooms and a futon mattress that can accommodate 2 more.) A full Kitchen, breakfast nook, dining room, living room and outdoor deck give you plenty of space and variety. The Heart of is fully self contained with washer and dryer. To reach the recycling and trash cans you get to wander through Steve's furniture restoration workshop. A shared sauna is available in our garage. We live on the compound and we enjoy meeting our guests and welcoming you to the area. However, guests are free to choose how much interaction they desire since they have an independent entrance. We have quite a bit of experience in the area being long term residents and are happy to share ideas and information as desired. There is also a pretty extensive book compiled with adventures and ideas of things to do in the area. Our neighborhood is pretty quaint. The Dolores River flows at the end of the block and is an exquisite relief at the end of a hot summers day adventure. The grocery store is 4 blocks to the West and the Library is 1 block to the East. In the winter we can walk out the door, put on our cross country skis and ski away! In the summer we can jump on mountain bikes and head out. Boggy Draw is up the hill about 2 miles away - a local biking 'destination'. McPhee Lake is only about 1/2 mile away when we have a good snow year. Even in a low snow year the kayaking can be fun. Fishermen are always on the river and lake. We enjoy sailing when the lake is full. There are two scenic routes in the area, San Juan Skyway that takes you to Rico, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and Durango, and the Trail of the Ancients leading you through the Desert and to many puebloan indian ruins. We have hosted several hunting groups because the mountains are nearby and hunting is a prime activity during the season. Public transport is not really a concept in rural SW Colorado. Bikes, walking or your own vehicle are pretty important. There is a bus route that goes from Durango to Grand Junction Colorado. A new addition to our home includes a 5 person Sauna! A great way to relax and work on sore muscles after a day of play and adventure.
