This traditional Swiss house comes with 2 newly renovated studios (30m2 each) with separate entrances. Both have a sleeping area, a full equipped kitchen & a bathroom/shower. Ideal for people that want to share a house but not the living space. There is WIFI. Parking on site on request. The place has a balcony, a garden & is located in a tranquil area. Grocery shop, bakery, ATM & a bus stop are 50 meters away. Within 10 min. you reach the train station Interlaken Ost by bus. 5 min. walk to lake. The tourism association charges us per adult/child from 16 years of age that we host CHF 3.50 tourist tax per night. You will be asked to leave the corresponding amount cash in a prepared envelope before your departure. The two newly renovated self-contained studios with separate entrances come with WiFi. One studio is located on the ground and the other one on the upper floor of our house. The ground floor studio "Swiss Kiwi Chalet Garden" comes with a queen size bed while the studio "Swiss Kiwi Chalet Terrace" on the upper floor comes with a king bed in the sleeping loft. Please be aware that you can't stand up straight in the sleeping area due to the low ceilings. It is a cosy area just underneath the roof. Both studios come with a fold out couch in the living area and a fully equipped kitchen and a bath room as well. All comes with bedlinen. The studio has a fully equipped kitchen and there are closets where you can store your clothes, books etc. as well as a desk and a breakfast bar. The modern bathroom comes with a shower, a basin and a toilet. There will be towels as well as shampoo and a blow dryer for you to use. In the kitchen you find coffee and tea as well as oil, salt and pepper. The studios are located in an old Swiss house . They have their own entrance. One is on the ground floor the on the upper floor can be reached by stairs. While the upper studio has a balcony and access the lower one has direct access to a beautiful garden with a seating area under an old walnut tree. There is free parking on the site on request. So let us know when you are arriving by car. If the spot is not available anymore there is enough parking possibilities close by. One studio has a washing machine. The studios have no special children friendly/unfriendly features. Since the studio comes with a big garden and is located in a quiet area of town we do find it suitable for small families. Please be aware that there are steep stairs. The two studios in the Swiss Kiwi Chalets can also be rented separately. Look for Swiss Kiwi Chalet Garden and Swiss Kiwi Chalet Terrace on airbnb. Each studio is ideal for 2 to 3 if needed 4 guests. We or our Co-host can always be reached through the airbnb app. Otherwise we love to give you your own space. The house with the studios is located in the middle of the old village. The fountain where in the old days the people used to get their water from is right around the corner of the place. The historic walk way that takes you to houses that are over 300 years old goes right by the place. The people of the neighborhood take good care of the surrounding area. There is lots of flowers, chopped wood and nice gardens that make the neighborhood looking as Swiss as it gets. The old wooden houses are all built very close to each other so we do have neighbors close by. We need to respect them and their privacy. The grocery shop, butcher, bakery and a bus stop are only 50 meters away. For your stay we provide you with guest cards. These allow you to use the yellow public bus within the near by area for free. For their validity please make sure to write down your full name on the guests cards. From the very close by bus station the yellow public buses take you to Interlaken Ost train station and further to down town Interlaken. Or to lake Brienz - where you can hop on to ferries - and further to Iseltwald. Another picturesque village at the lake of Brienz. The buses run all day from 6 AM until 8PM every half an hour in both directions. Until 11 PM every hour. We do have one free parking spot on site that you can use free of charge if you let us know that you are arriving by car in advanced. Please note that the garage door in front needs to be opened at any time. Within 10 minutes you reach the train station Interlaken Ost and down town Interlaken by the yellow public bus. Within 5 minutes walking you find yourself at lake Brienz. There is an area where the ferries stop, a tiny harbor for the boats of the locals as well as a beach and a swimming area. You can walk along the shore and enjoy the beautiful lake view with the mountains in the back ground. In the summer time there is so much to do in the area of Interlaken. Rafting, canyoning, bungee jumping, canyon swinging, paragliding, hang gliding, sky diving, hiking, biking, golfing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddling, climbing as well as awesome boat, ferry and train rides. There are also a bunch of bad weather options like visiting a chocolate factory, a brewery, the Beaten Caves, the mystery room, the bowling center, the movie theater, an indoor climbing hall, an indoor swimming pool or a spa. There is also a couple of very nice cafés and good restaurants with food from all over the world including the classic Swiss cuisine. In winter there is a number of world class ski fields that can be reached easily by train from Interlaken. Skis and snowboards can be rented. Activities like night sledding, snow shoe walking, ice climbing, ice skating or paragliding can be booked as well. All year around there are plenty of events taking place in the area. The famous rock festival Green Fields, Truckers Festival, the National Day Parade on 1st of August, openair movies and plays, the International Buskers Festival, the Jungfrau Marathon, the Ski World Cup race on Lauberhorn, Christmas markets and many more.
