The INN is a boutique hotel with eleven guest rooms, all with private baths and the comfort and detail discerning travelers expect. The cozy hunting lodge decor is familiar and relaxed yet filled with whimsical detail. A full hearty breakfast is included, and our restaurant and bar serves gourmet dinners Thursday through Sunday evenings. Yankee Magazine selected us as 2016's 'Best New Inn' and we won Travel Channel's 'Hotel Showdown' in 2015. The INN itself is a historic, rambling 6500-square foot former lumber baron's home built in 1890, complete with an attached carriage house and views of the beautiful Trout River flowing out back. It has been renovated with great care from stem to stern, creating a warm, inviting space that embraces guests with comfortable amenities, interesting decor, and special touches at every turn. You will also find a bar, restaurant and lounge, open to the public Thursday through Sunday evenings, that serves up warm and hearty reinvented worldly comfort food and three roaring fireplaces that offer the ideal space to curl up and enjoy a good book, your favorite libation, or both. The lounge is also stocked for guest entertainment, with a big-screen TV, games, cards and books. We are available to assist guests when needed. Montgomery Center is a picturesque yet quirky ski town just down the road from the ever growing Jay Peak ski resort, known far and wide for its Jay Cloud, which year after year, delivers the greatest snowfall in the east. Jay Peak is also a expanding four-season resort with an indoor water park and 36 holes of championship golf. In addition to the four-season adventures offered by Jay Peak, outdoor enthusiasts will find a broad variety of mountain bike trails and hundreds of miles of low traffic roadways ideal for long-distance road riding. For hikers, the Long Trail runs just outside the village along with numerous nearby peaks to tackle. Of course, there's always fishing, canoeing, kayaking, ATVing and frisbee golf nearby in the summer and snowshoeing, back country skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding in the winter. The Canadian border lies just eight miles to our north with the uniquely French villages of the Eastern Townships at our doorstep, offering amazing cuisine, shopping, spas and international adventure, as well as additional skiing. And one can get your city fix in Montreal, less than 90 minutes away. The best way to get around in the greater area is by car. In addition to the internet and a reception room well stocked with brochures, we are a great resource for things to do in the area. We help guests make the most of their stay, as well as make their stay most enjoyable.
