I have two double occupancy, private rooms available in my charming, 100-year old cottage. One room has a double bed and the other has a queen. They are both on the second floor, adjacent to a full bath. I am a 5 min walk from Amtrak and the bus. You can access my other double occupancyroom here: airbnb.com/rooms/ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) I have been told that my home is very charming and cozy. It is a 100-year old cottage with additions. Although it is only 5 minutes from the village, it is in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood with many lovely, old homes. I usually prepare a substantial breakfast for my guests, which includes dark-roast, fresh-ground coffee and/or a variety of teas, fresh fruit, breakfast meat such as Vermont maple bacon or sausage, a savory dish, such as a crepe with fiddle-heads or vegetables and herbs from my garden and Vermont cheddar, and a sweet dish such as rhubarb crisp with chevre. My guests have access to the entire first two floors, which include the covered front porch, the living room and den, both with TV's, the kitchen, dining room and and deck, which has a gas grill and which looks out on substantial perennial and herb garden. Guests have also been very enthusiastic about my breakfasts. I am generally available to my guests, but I like to give them their space. I am often in garden or in my third-floor study. I can usually gauge when guests want to chat and when they prefer privacy. My neighborhood is very green, with mature trees filled with songbirds and some beautiful old homes and gardens. I like the fact that although I can walk to the village in 5 minutes, it feels quiet, secluded and tranquil. Amtrak is a 5 minute walk from my house and also serves as the bus depot. I use the bus frequently and find it welcoming, easy, convenient and cheap. I also bike a lot and there are some wonderful places to bike. Amtrak goes by at 9:30 AM and 8:30 PM. There are infrequent and irregular freight trains that usually pass unnoticed by my guests.
