The large private garden surrounds the house, and is perfect for relaxing, sunbathing and sun-set barbecues. The patio areas and secluded garden benches provide a mix of quiet relaxation spaces and communal al-fresco dining areas. The spectacular evening star-shows from the patios are magical The master bedroom has a king-sized bed with 2 built-in double wardrobes and french doors to the patio leading to the rear garden. The double room overlooks the private rear garden and - along with the twin room and the bunk room - also has built-in wardrobes. Double-glazing and central heating throughout help to ensure a relaxing stay. Perfect and peaceful for 8 guests to relax. In addition there is a quality sofa-bed for 2 in the Living Room. There's plenty of family parking space on the drive. Across the field from our unmade lane is a tarmac road running from the shop to the beach - helping to keep the lane quiet. There is also a nearby playground for younger children. The historic smuggling town of Rye is a bus-ride or 5-minute car journey away. Our single-track railway from Rye connects to the mainline services at Hastings and Ashford International. You can walk east along the shore to Rye Harbour - or cycle via the smooth private track. Pett Pools and petrified forest are half an hours walk west along the sea wall. The 1066 Country website has lots of other local information. We live locally and can be on hand if/when needed. Great for swimming, walking, beach-combing, bird-watching - or just relaxing in the local mediaeval smuggling town of Rye. Both Ancient Winchelsea and Rye were part of the Cinque Ports naval defences created by Edward the Confessor. They supplied the Crown with ships and men.
