Welcome to The Owl's Nest, a brand new woody pine cabin nestled in a private homestead atmosphere overlooking fields and forests. This cabin is designed for two adults, or a small family, and offers a cozy, clean, open concept design with large bright windows designed to let the natural beauty of the land inside. Spend your days unwinding at the cabin or explore nearby attractions. Hike to the lookout at Blueberry Mountain, or visit local boutique shops and restaurants in historic Perth. The cabin is tucked into a one acre field with a gorgeous view of the surrounding farm fields and the forest beside. You are free to explore it to your hearts content and enjoy the beautiful sunsets to the west. Birds, deer, and owl and loon calls will keep you in good company. The field and forest is yours for the using, with plenty of space to explore and run, hammock for lounging and a fire pit for some nighttime magic. Enjoy the beautiful trail that runs throughout the 35 acre property. We do, however, ask that you keep out of the working farm spaces and barns for safety reasons. If you have any issues we are available by text or call (texting is quickest). The cabin is located down a private country road. The closest town (Lanark) is a 5 minute drive and has all the basic amenities including a small grocery store, a library, and an LCBO. The main town attraction is the historic town of Perth which is a 15 minute drive away. Poke around in the many charming boutique shops and enjoy a meal on a patio. Not to mention perusing the many incredible farmers and artists showcased at the Perth Farmer's Market every Saturday. The outdoor adventure possibilities are endless with the 23 trails in and around our area all of which are shown in our guide book provided. There are also many beautiful provincial parks and beaches in the area. The best way to get around these parts is by car, though it is also an extremely popular area for bicycling and motorcycling. Please use the second driveway just past the barns and park in the designated parking spot. *NOTE: outdoor shower and running water available May-November or until freezing temperatures arrive. Plenty of water is made available for drinking and use otherwise. * Please bring your own bed linens and towels. We supply the duvet and cover as well as 4 pillows. Dish cloths and tea towels are also included. Firewood for the campfire pit is not included. We provide plenty of delicious drinking water in a glass vessel. Note: we have 2 extremely friendly farm dogs who live on the property with us.
