FARMHOUSE CASE PERROTTA
Originally a convent and later a winery, Case Perrotta is now a fascinating farmhouse perched on the side of Mount Etna which produces a valuable organic extra virgin olive oil and features Sicilian-style rooms and a restaurant serving local cuisine. The old farmhouse has been beautifully restored and suited to host you in 10 cozy rooms that will spoil you rotten. The rooms are warm and quaint, equipped with a mini bar, satellite TV, safe, free wifi, kettle with tea and chocolate, hotel bath kit, and disposable picnic cutlery for your excursions. There is daily room cleaning. Some of the rooms have stupendous views of the seaside, while others look out onto Mount Etna. Each room is named after the flowers or fruit trees present on the farm. Do not miss the chance to sleep in the “Palmento” rooms and have a look at Etna before going to bed: its frequent and sudden eruptions might offer you an explosive show of fountains of fire from a quiet point of view! Breakfast is served at the fireplace room in winter and in the courtyard during the summer. Guests are free to walk around the farm. The garden is ideal for relaxing and casual bird watching. Walk down our grove of olive trees, read a book under a centuries-old oak, discover our plants and pick fruit from a cherry-tree. Breathe and live Sicily. There is a friendly Sicilian welcome waiting for you at Case Perrotta. Our young staff is always courteous and eager to help guests organize their trip. Our goal is make you feel like you’re at home and have a pleasant stay with us. We welcome you to a genuine family atmosphere to let you appreciate the warmth of our farmhouse. The owner and staff work hard to ensure that your stay at the hotel is a high point on your trip to Sicily. At Case Perrotta, there is information about all services in the area including restaurants, shopping, and recommendations about the surrounding area for traveling like a local. Feel free to ask our staff any questions. For nature lovers we organize guided trekking tours to Mount Etna. We are located on the slopes of Mount Etna, 700 meters above sea level in the Sant’Alfio area and only a stone’s throw away from an age-old chestnut tree, the “Castagno dei Cento Cavalli,” the largest and oldest known chestnut tree in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Case Perrotta lies between two of the most fascinating and representative centres of eastern Sicily: Catania with its black baroque architecture and nightlife and Taormina with its Greek theatre and shopping street. We are right in the middle of the two main starting points: Rifugio Sapienza and Piano Provenzana to visit Mt. Etna. We do suggest that our guests rent a car. Case Perrotta’s restaurant serves local and seasonal food. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menu on demand. We also serve our own products, such as the organic olive oil and our fruits and vegetables. There is an organic farm shop with seasonal products, olive oil, local wines, pottery and home-made preserves and jam.
