River House in Barca da Amieira

The "Casa Rio" (River House) may be a natural refuge for holiday or weekends, either with family or with a group of friends. It is a home with 3 floors and capacity for 20 persons, it’s fully equipped and furnished. The external environment of the "Casa Rio" (River House) allows the guests a peaceful ambience inherent to a natural setting home over the river. In the village of São José das Matas you can find some infrastructures that enable access to essential goods and resources, such as food. Besides some cafés, you can still find a mini-market or a taxi to any needs. The "Casa Rio" (River House) is easily reached by car or by train. By car, at 180 km from Lisbon, in the A23 motorway, exit at Envendos / São José das Matas (exit 14), then follow São José das Matas direction and proceed to the Barca da Amieira train station near to the Tejo river. By train enjoy a unique journey trough the Beira Baixa rail line and exit in Barca Amieira train station. The house is only at 100 meters from the station. The "Casa Rio" (River House) can be an excuse to gather family and friends or either be used to conduct retreats, meetings, trainings, workshops and other activities for groups, even wishing just to visit this region of Portugal and have some relaxation.
