Rural Apartment with mountain views

Modern apartment ideal for all year round holidays including skiing, 5 mins away from airport in a rural position with great mountain views. This ground floor apartment has a large lounge diner, well equipped kitchen, a double and twin bedroom and large bathroom. There are patio doors from all rooms leading onto terrace. There is a parking space outside the apartment Guests have full use of the apartment Guests will have full use of apartment Skiing information The gondola lift to Krvavec ski resort is about 3 kilometres from the apartment. You can hire skiing/snow board equipment at the Krvavec resort for as many days as needed and you don't have to return it at the end of each day which means you can take it with you to other resorts, returning it to Krvavec at the end of your stay. We often do this . There are other resorts within reasonable travelling distance, the Slovenian resorts of Kranjski Gora,Cerkno and Rogla are around an hour away. Likewise the Austrian resorts of Bad Kleinkirchenheim, Villach, Innerkrems. Just over the Italian border are the resorts of Tarvisio and Sella Nevea. There are other smaller ski resorts in Slovenia closer to hand but the snow is less reliable. All depends what you want really. Some people are happy to spend a week at Krvavec, others prefer to travel around. I have skied at all the resorts mentioned when staying at the apartment but we always start and finish at Krvavec. I should mention that the big differences between Slovenia and Italy and Austria, is a) the cost of everything from food and drink to ski passes is much cheaper and b) generally less busy. Spas and Swimming Pools There is a very large "water world" in Ljubljana about 20 minutes drive time, and there are spas with pools, sauna etc close to some of the resorts. We use one near Rogla ski resort when we have skied there. There is also a spa/ swimming pool complex 40 minutes away called Terme Snovik. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Bike Hire There is a good network of cycle routes in the vicinity. Bikes can be hired from Domacija Vodnik - a hotel and restaurant in Adergas – just up the road. Shops There is a supermarket, butcher, baker, bank in Cerklje which is a 7 minute drive up the road which is sufficient for all your needs. There is a good selection of larger supermarkets on the outskirts of Kranj . A few Suggested Days out/Activities From the apartment you can walk directly into the mountains via Adergas . There are numerous walking; climbing and other outdoor opportunities for all levels of fitness from a short stroll to a 2 day attempt at Triglav – the highest mountain in Slovenia. Lakes Bled and Bohinj make delightful days out, don’t forget to try the famous Bled cake. On Velika Planina , accessed by cable car there is a picturesque alpine meadow settlement of mostly herders dwellings. Skofja Loka is interesting ancient town. Ljubljana – The compact capital city of Slovenia – only 30 mins away Postjana cave - The best known cave in the world accessed by train. 24km of passages, described as a ‘stalactite paradise on every corner’ Predjama Castle- is perched high on a vertical cliff, the largest cave castle in the world.
