Second Floor The apartment is inside a former farm house that is now renovated and contains several apartments. You will have one bright and spacious living-/bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a hallway with a large wardrobe. The bedroom has a full size bed, a desk with chairs, closet space, a sofa that can be turned into a small bed for kids and a large window. The kitchen contains a fridge, a stove and common kitchen equipment. The apartment is in very good condition and most of the furniture is brand new. Stylewise, there is lots of rustic natural wood, combined with a few antique and a few modern elements. We offer two apartments on Airbnb: a first floor and a second floor one. This is the second floor apartment. Feel free to look at the Airbnb listing of the other one as well. Washer and electric dryer are centrally located in the basement. Bicycles of different sizes can be borrowed free of charge. --- There is a big 3000 sqm garden around the house with lots of apple trees, a pond and a small garden house. You are very welcome to hang out here, stroll around, read, relax. The town of Ruschweiler is part of the Illmensee resort area which boasts three natural lakes including swimming, fishing, rowing, and minigolfing opportunities. The Illmensee lake has a supervised swimming area as well as a playground, waterslide etc. which is perfect for kids. You can walk to Lake Ruschweilersee (5 min walk) and Lake Illmensee (20 min walk). In Illmensee there is also a small supermarket, a bakery, several restaurants and one bar, a post office etc. The region is excellent for being explored by bike. Bicycles of different sizes can be borrowed free of charge. Within a few kilometers you can reach the Pfrunger Ried which is one of the largest marsh areas in Germany. There is an educational hiking path leading through the swamps and a marsh museum describing flora and fauna as well as human history around the marshlands. Also within a few kilometers is the viewpoint Hoechsten which offers a great panorama view across the Lake Constance valley with the lake and the Swiss Alps in the background. Within a 30 minute drive you can reach numerous attractions of the region, including Lake Constance with cities such as Meersburg, Überlingen, and Friedrichshafen; Sigmaringen castle; canoeing opportunities on the Danube; Heiligenberg castle; the monastery and boarding school of Salem etc. The apartment comes with a parking space. For maximum mobility, we recommend to arrive by car but there are also public buses to and from local centers such as Ravensburg, Pfullendorf and Wilhelmsdorf (the bus stop is only a 3 min walk from the apartment). The closest train stations are Ravensburg, Überlingen and Sigmaringen where rental cars are available. Friedrichshafen Airport is a 40 min. Drive away and has direct flight connections to many German and European cities.
