Spacious villa in medieval village with breathtaking views a large terrace for al fresco dining, garden and private pool. An ideal place to relax and unwind and a great base from which to explore the Garfagnana Valley, Lucca and Florence. Close to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana the capital of the Garfagnana valley, Sillico is a delightful medieval village dating back as far as 1500's when it was home to one of the most notorious bandits of the region, Il Moro. The village sits 700 meters above sea level and offers panoramic views of the Apuan Alps and Apennines mountains. The village is full of character and history and has a bar with an outside terrace providing those all important views, a popular restaurant and small local shop providing basic supplies. Casa Laura, consists of three double bedrooms, two bathrooms one of which is equipped with a hydro massaging shower, lounge including uk satellite television (with a limited service) and DVD facilities and a study with internet access. The modern kitchen is spacious and well equipped. There is a large partly covered terrace area adjacent to the swimming pool which is ideal for al fresco dining and general relaxing. The swimming pool is open from 1st May - 1st October. The house also includes a wood burning pizza oven and off street parking for two cars. The house, garden, patio and pool is for the sole use of the family or group that are staying. My husband and I live a few kilometres away and so can be on hand as much or as little as required. We have a good knowledge of the area and will happily help you to plan your stay. Trains run from the local station in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana to Lucca, Florence and Pisa. In 2018 La Garfagnana introduced a Tourist Tax. The tax applies to all guests over the age of 14. The tax is 1 euro per person per night up to a maximum of 5 nights. The tax is payable in cash upon arrival.
