Beautiful hand built Shepherd Huts. Both finished to a very high & comfortable standard. Quality fitted kitchens, en suite bathroom, fridge, oven, underfloor heating, fully equipped, BOSE sound, TV/DVD, pure sheep's wool duvets are on the single beds. On the double bed in the Four Berth Hut it is a Pure Silk duvet so both are suitable for anyone with allergies. Feather Pillows are standard, however, should you require Non Allergy they are available for you. Just request them when you book. We have built our Huts in a large plot of private woodland. The area is secluded and private with beautiful views south down the Holker Valley and across to Bigland Hall. There is ample parking with private seating areas throughout the beautiful gardens and grounds. Perfectly located being just over a mile to the foot of Lake Windermere, the longest Lake in the country. We have two Five Star Hotels five minutes away, where you can purchase a day pass for their luxury Spa Facilities. Both can offer you pampering treatments or a swim after a day walking on the fells. Should you wish to take a pleasant ten minute walk through the woods to catch the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Vintage Steam Railway, you will feel like your on an adventure with the “Railway Children.” Indulge yourselves with one of their fabulous Afternoon Teas in their converted Railway Station before your train ride to connect at Lakeside. You will now board the elegant Victorian Lakeside Steamers. Sailing the length of Lake Windermere, embracing some of the most beautiful views in the world will set the standard for an unforgettable trip. You will enjoy the jaw dropping views of the rich and famous houses whilst you have the facility of the on board bar🥂. There are walks, bike rides and water sports on the doorstep, with a great village Pub on the village green ( The White Hart -Bouth) a lovely walk exactly one mile door to door ! The nearest town (6 miles) is the charming Ulverston, a quaint market town. There are quality supermarkets, with plenty of bespoke and individual shops with its beautiful cobbled streets. Also the birthplace of Stan Laurel where there is a museum for any of you avid Laurel & Hardy fans. It’s well worth a visit We are only 20 minutes from M6, but a million miles from the rat race! We look forward to welcoming you soon x You will have exclusive use of the huts, arctic cabin, lawn area and the surrounding woodland. We have oodles of parking space, with you own gated access. There is an Artic Cabin available to everyone at anytime. This offers a central open fire where you can cook your dinner and dine, listen to music or simply enjoy a glass of something abd read. It seats 12 people, with reindeer skin seating, lots of books, music throws and games. It’s a great place to congregate and enjoy an evening with family friends. Since Covid we have introduced another BBQ area with a pergola housing a very smart large Gas BBQ with outdoor fire pit. There is seating, cushions and throws for anyone who wishes to enjoy the night sky or sunshine on hot days. Don't forget to bring your BBQ food to cook over the fire We light the fire each evening.( we provide the fuel for the fire ) If you would rather not travel with food, then you will be able to purchase some from our local Booths supermarket in Ulverston Or we are fortunate to have the best butcher “ Voted Best Butcher in the Country” very close by so will not be short of somewhere to buy the best ! We are in South Lakeland in a rural and typically Cumbrian setting. We can't guarantee the weather but we can guarantee you a relaxing and rural retreat with plenty to do! Check out our photos, we are in the Lake District National Park. We have a series of trails starting at your door, you can walk to unique steam railway which connects to the Windermere Steamers. Getting Around There are bus services less than a quarter of a mile from the property, connecting you with Ulvertson, Barrow and Kendal. You can get the steam train and steamer to Windermere and Ambleside and there are taxis in Ulverston. The nearest mainline train station is Ulverston. You can reach us via public transport if you plan ahead. We are located in the Lake District National Park a 15 minute walk from Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway Station, from here you can enjoy a steam train ride to Lakeside (via Newby Bridge) onto the Steamers of Windermere Lake Cruises. From Lakeside you can sail up and Windermere from top to bottom. Windermere (the longest in England) is a 5 minute drive. We are conveniently located 15 minutes from Grizedale Forest where you can undertake miles of good cycling trails or enjoy a woodland walk. Outside your front door is a series of trails, known as Haverthwaite heights. This allows you a quick ascent to the beautiful views of Morecambe Bay or in the other direction, the charming Rusland Valley and Coniston old man.
