The villa is staffed full-time by our housekeeper/cook, who will prepare a complimentary Western-style breakfast for you. She can shop for groceries and sundry supplies (sunscreen, toiletries, etc.), and will tidy up the room and keep the property swept and running smoothly. We have a local driver who is available for airport pickup/dropoff at a very reasonable price and can also shuttle you to town, beaches, activities, or cultural sites. The villa is located approximately 15 minutes from downtown Ubud, and the same to the pleasant, sandy beaches of Sanur. Ubud has fabulous restaurants, shopping, and cultural events like traditional Balinese dancing and gamelon. Sanur features great ocean-front restaurants, shopping, and kid-friendly swimming beaches. An American expat, he moved to Bali from Switzerland, and has relocated to Jakarta for business reasons. His housekeeper, Sri, is honest, loyal, hardworking, and available to help make your stay pleasant. The villa is located in the village of Batuan, famous for its traditional painting style and wood carving. The neighbors are friendly and curious, as we are the only Westerners in the village. There is a beautiful resort, Santi Mandala, within walking distance that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as massage, yoga, and spa services. Traditional Balinese family compounds and temples line the walkway to the villa. The villa is located between Sanur and Ubud, a 15-20 minutes drive from each. We have a local professional tour driver who speaks very good English and can arrange for tickets to cultural events, day-trips to great dive/snorkel locations, river rafting, you name it. His fees are very reasonable. Very few villas have the same open views and privacy as Villa Air Terjun. No roads, no cars, just the sounds of birds, the waterfall, the rustling of palm fronds in the breeze, the chatter of monkeys and the trumpeting of elephants from the Bali Zoo, just a few hundred meters through the forest. Bali Bird Park, the black-sand beaches at Pantai Ketewel, numerous temple and cultural heritage sites are a 10-minute drive away.
