A traditional rural cottage just 5 minutes walk from the pretty local village. Recently renovated, the cottage has a traditional exterior but the true wow factor is the modern rear of the cottage boasting an open place living space with full height glazing panels opening onto a terrace with seating, hot tub and separate gym building. The cottage is furnished in a modern style - clean lines, white walls and, as a nod to its former traditional interior, occasional exposed beams and brick. We are located in an area which is great for walks in the Surrey Hills or South Downs. We have not yet completely finished the renovation works leading up to the front entrance but it does not detract from the property itself. Ground Floor: Kitchen, living/dining with wood burning stove, piano, underfloor heating and wooden floor. Bedrooms 1 (king size bed) and 2 (double bed) and shower room: Kitchen: Galley style with electric cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Stairs to... Bedroom 3 and 4: With super king bed and bathroom ensuite and king bed and shower en suite respectively. Initial fuel for open fire included. Freezer and laundry service available on request. Private parking. No smoking. Escape to the delightful rural West Sussex village of Rusper. Make sure you pack your walking boots as half an hour's drive takes you to the Surrey Hills or the South Downs. Within the sleepy village of half-timbered cottages and houses, the village church boasts a tower and from here you can see Blackdown Hill, and Leith Hill in the Surrey and Hampshire Downs. Public tennis courts, a couple of good pubs and a village shop are close by. Visit Nutbourne Vineyard near Pulborough or Denbies near Dorking and Box Hill and book a wine tasting tour or discover the beautiful Arundel Castle and gardens, which have been the seat of the Norfolk family for over 850 years. Go fishing or take a boat out on the River Arun. Wakehurst on the High Weald of West Sussex has 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodlands and a nature reserve plus the Millennium Seedbank. Brighton, Chichester and Goodwood for the horse racing, Festival of Speed and Revival, are also within easy driving distance and Gatwick airport is just 8 miles away. Hi, you will have access to the home, garden, hot tub, gym and the front parking area. My husband and I work nearby but we are contactable by email or phone. We simply love the Sussex countryside and this pretty village with its traditional stone church which is also so accessible to London, Reigate, Brighton, and Guildford. On our doorstep, there are many eateries serving up food from breakfast through to dinner, from the local farm shop, The Star, The Plough and The Lamb Inn pubs. We are also a 3 minute walk from the closest public footpath, one of many, which takes you through local fields which can also be the off road route to The Lamb Inn. The tennis courts in the village are also free to use. Make sure you pack your walking boots as half an hour's drive takes you to the Surrey Hills or the South Downs. Local areas of outstanding natural beauty such as Box Hill, Devil's Dyke and Leith Hill are on our doorstep along with National Trust properties such as Nymans, Polesden Lacey and others. Other notable places to visit - within 3/4 hour to 1 1/4 hours' drive - are Wakehurst Place (part of Kew Gardens), the beautiful Arundel Castle and gardens, which have been the seat of the Norfolk family for over 850 years, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle. Chichester and Goodwood for the horse racing, the Festival of Speed and the Revival, are also within easy driving distance and Gatwick airport is just 8 miles away. There are also wine tasting and vineyard tours at Nutbourne Vineyard near Pulborough or Denbies near Dorking. Nearby market towns of Horsham and Dorking have an array of shops and eateries from Nandos, Wagamamas, Cote, Bill's Miller & Carter Steakhouse to the Michelin starred restaurants, Tristans and Interlude, Horsham and Sorrel, Dorking. For antique lovers, Dorking is a must! Buses connecting to the local towns leave from the village which is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. Three Bridges train station, Crawley and Horsham train station has mainline services to London and Brighton. Dorking train station has mainline services to London and Guildford. Gatwick Airport is 15 minutes away by car and the Gatwick Express provides 1/2 hour express trains into London Victoria. A recommended local taxi company is Paul Hellens Taxi. There are lots of walking routes nearby and a public footpath across the fields can be accessed just minutes by foot from the cottage. Washing machine and tumble dryer available upon request. Fire pit available upon request.
