"Viewtopia" an Amazing Mountain Home
Our home offers an incredible year-round panoramic view of the blue ridge mountains at an altitude of 3900 feet. Enjoy the mountain air in this fully equipped, spacious mountain home, designed for family fun with finished game room in basement, a hot tub, a wood burning fireplace and large deck... peaceful, quiet and close to hiking, wineries, restaurants, and "gem mining", plus less than 1 hour drive to Asheville and Boone. Please read the House Rules before requesting to book our house! Our house is all about providing a comfortable place to unwind and enjoy the million-dollar view, be it from the deck, living room, master bedroom, or dining room. Of course it's also a great home base for day trips throughout the Blue Ridge. The house is perched at the top of one of the highest ridges in the Little Switzerland area at the top of a 1-acre lot that has been cleared of all tall trees, ensuring year-round short-range and long-range views. The house is in great condition with every modern convenience, including fiber-based high-speed internet service, big screen HDTV's with streaming capability in Living Room and master bedroom. Travelers have access to the entire house and can park in the garage and/or the parking space in front of the garage, as well as an "overflow" gravel area near the mid-point of the driveway. Additional rules - While our house is located on a 1 acre lot and no neighbors are within direct view, it IS within a subdivision with no other rental homes, so we ask that our guests respect the peace and quiet that our neighborhood offers. Please no loud parties. - We welcome small children, but we don't currently provide any special amenities such as a porta-crib or baby gates. And of course any deck can be dangerous for young kids, so children on the deck must be supervised at all times. Due to the design of our deck we don't recommend the house for toddlers. - Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. Any evidence of smoking will result in a charge against your deposit. Little Switzerland, North Carolina, United States The neighborhood is quiet with a paved road all the way to the house (including a paved driveway). The neighborhood is far above the Blue Ridge Parkway and Hwy 226, so there is no road noise unlike most neighborhoods in Little Switzerland. The only road in view (and earshot) is the road leading to a few neighbors' houses "Downtown" Little Switzerland and nearest exit of the Blue Ridge Parkway is a two-mile drive (or bike ride!). The drive to downtown Asheville is one hour door-to-door. The drive times to Boone and Blowing Rock are also about an hour. Guests with disabilities should know that like many mountain houses, the main living area (Deck, Kitchen, Living Room, Dining Room, and Master Bedroom/Bath) is up a flight of stairs from the parking level. The remaining bedrooms/bath are up a second flight of stairs.
