Explore the natural paradise of this landscape, by taking a walk in the village or gazing at the view from the spacious balcony of the house. You can feel the pleasure of a traditional Greek coffee or a Cretan meze accompanied by raki, the traditional drink of Crete. The quiet and safe location of the house, away from the sounds of the city, will offer you unique moments of relaxation. In addition, as the house is located in a genuine Greek village, it creates a completely safe place where your children can play safely. The beauty of nature stands out in a safe, warm and traditional space, which has two equipped kitchens, three bathrooms and four bedrooms, with a capacity of up to eight people. The three-storey building has a spacious dining room and a fireplace, which exudes the warmth of Cretan hospitality. In addition, it contains a work area, boudoir and spacious closets in each bedroom. Skotino is a small village, which is located at an altitude of 140m and it is 22.5 km east of Heraklion. This area is a popular tourist destination, with a variety of activities. A walk in the countryside in the morning or afternoon will allow you to find many different and unique herbs. Indicatively you can visit: the dinosaur park "Dinosauria park", the aquarium of Crete "CretAquarium", the "Watercity Waterpark", the "Arion Stables" and the "Planet Crete Planetarium", Arolithos, the Folklore Museum of Lychnostatis, the Labyrinth, the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, Knossos, the Kazantzakis Museum etc. For those who love hiking or for those who want to enjoy quiet moments, while taking a walk in nature, indicative suggestions are: Dark cave: they have not found its end yet and above the cave there is the small church of Agia Paraskevi. In the cave there is also the monastery of Panagia Eleousa. Karterou Gorge: It is located in the area above the village of Karteros, with a total route length of about 12.5 km. The duration of the route is about 3.5 hours and the route is not difficult. The Gorge of Agia Anastasia: It starts from the New village Pediados (160m altitude) and ends at Gournes. The descent of the gorge takes about 3 hours and is not particularly painful. Aposelemi Gorge: It is located near Hersonissos. The route is easy. Suitable for all ages, ideal for families with young children. Its duration is about 2.5 hours. The Makellarianou Gorge: A short easy route starting from the cave of Agia Paraskevi Skotinos. Finish is in the beach of Gouves and the church of Agios Konstantinos. Agia Paraskevi Gorge: It is a technical gorge and its descent requires special skills and training in descending gorges with rope. Even for canyoners it is considered a difficult gorge and only the most experienced can descend it safely. Beaches The nearest beach is Gouves beach, which is located at about 6.3 km.
