Stoney Bottom is a 6 acre botanical garden featuring local and rare species. The cottage overlooks an agave garden and a 100X100 lawn where you can have the most epic picnics. You'll hear (and likely see) owls, jackrabbits, foxes, deer, cows, chickens, goats, sheep, birds, and of course, crickets. See the stars at night and wake to glowy mountain fog visible from bed. The Cottage is a large studio with vaulted ceiling, windows, and sliding glass that lead you to not one but two private decks. It's designed with simplicity and beauty in mind and decorated with soft linens, high end furnishings, and vintage oil paintings. You'll quickly relax into the lounging chair, but also might fall right into the fluffy king size bed and never leave. There's heat/ac/fan but also an electric fireplace for ambiance. You'll be close to restaurants, tasting rooms & shopping, but have all of the charm you'd expect from the countryside. We are glad to recommend restaurants, tasting rooms, and can even help you arrange to have a massage! Breakfast is made from scratch each morning and delivered directly to your room. We strive to use local, organic, seasonal ingredients, grown on property whenever possible. Let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences. Easily let yourself in and out of the gate that leads to The Cottage - please keep the gate closed at all times to keep the deer out. You have your own private parking spot. Parking throughout the town of Boonville is plentiful and easy. Boonville is a charming and quiet town so small you might drive through it without realizing it. While small, it's also home to incredible restaurants, wineries, a short drive to the famous Hendy Woods State Park, and about 45 minutes to Mendocino. Boonville is located in the Anderson Valley, the rolling hills of the coastal region of Mendocino County, and is home to a unique group of wineries producing a broad range of ultra-premium wines including world-class Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Alsace. You'll want a car to access all that Anderson Valley has to offer. We offer free parking on the premises. Bikes are also super fun to have here - we are just a short ride to downtown Boonville's restaurants, shops and tasting rooms! We've listed the space as not great for children/infants because there is a freestanding fireplace at floor level. During the warmer months, this isn't an issue, since you won't be short on heat here in the valley. We have a Guava travel crib and a twin floor mat available for tiny travelers.
