Relax at this peaceful yet central location set within a conservation area. Suitable for couples seeking a comfortable break or for a single person requiring a quiet base, convenient for transport connections, for work or leisure. Situated in a small development around a communal "village-green" space, yet convenient for Bridgend town (with its main line railway station), the stunning heritage coast, within easy reach of the M4 (both east and west) and of the shopping outlets at McArthur Glen. A light and airy 2nd floor (top floor) apartment with views via a set of recently replaced windows. Access is at the rear of the building, opposite the allocated parking area, and via a well lit internal stairway, comprising 30 steps in total. The kitchen and living/dining area are open plan, with a dining table for two and a large settee, armchair and comfy foot-stool for relaxing. The kitchen includes a fridge (with freezer compartment), an electric oven, a gas hob with an extraction hood above, a microwave oven, a washing machine and a stainless steel sink/drainer. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a toaster. An iron and ironing board are also provided, as is a clothes airer. The bedroom is of a good size with two built-in double wardrobes and impressive views from the traditional double sash window. The bathroom is also amply proportioned and includes an over-bath shower and a dual voltage electric shaving point. Hot water and full central heating are provided by the gas combi-boiler, which is housed in a hallway cupboard. The cupboard also houses the carbon monoxide alarm and monitor. There is a well lit hallway from the front door of the apartment, connecting all of the rooms. The smoke alarm is located in the ceiling of the hallway and both alarms are tested just before guest arrival. Regrettably no pets are allowed. Parking is within 10 metres of the entrance to the stairway and is reserved for sole use for you when you are the occupant of this apartment. There is a short walk (3 minutes) to the local park and recreation fields. The local authority leisure centre and pool are at the far end of the park. There is a 20 minute walk to Bridgend railway station, which boasts regular mainline connections to Swansea, Cardiff and London. The direct journey to London is 2 hours 15 minute only. There are also regular buses from Bridgend Bus Station to the MacArthurGlen discount shopping village. The chocolate-box-picture-book village of Merthyr Mawr, with its thatched cottages and river walks is less than 40 minutes walk (or 10 minutes drive) through the rolling countryside of the Vale of Glamorgan. The dunes and coast are also within a few hours walk, for the more enterprising walker. The remainder of the beautiful heritage coast is also a 10 minute drive away, with stunning beaches and the seaside resort of Porthcawl is only 15 minutes away in the opposite direction. The mining valleys of central Glamorgan, with their grandeur and rich industrial heritage, are just to the north of Bridgend. The majestic Brecon Beacons are just an hour's drive away too. I (or my husband, David) will meet and greet when you arrive but otherwise will only contact you if requested to do so by you or in an emergency. A semi-rural, residential neighbourhood with country and coastal walks but with quick access to the town of Bridgend and its amenities. There is free, allocated parking on the premises, with ample parking in Bridgend town, which is also a 20 minute stroll away, with several new restaurants, a main-line railway station, bus station and major supermarkets. The apartment is located in a peaceful, safe, residential area with neighbours who also value these attributes in each other.
