House in the Woods-For Romance or Remote Working!

Funky bungalow in the woods featuring a large sunroom w amazing views & woodstove. This home is surrounded by state forest & very private. It is the perfect spot for bonfires & outside activities. You can even see the Appalachian trail from the back yard. Sunsets over the lake are magical & at night you will see millions of stars (and occasional meteor showers) with absolutely no light pollution. This unique get-away is perfect for everything from a weekend getaway to a writers/artists retreat. Although the house is in a remote setting, the towns of Newton, Sparta, Stokes State Forest, the Appalachian Trail, the Delaware Water Gap and Milford, PA are just a 20-30 minute beautiful drive away. There is also a variety of attractions including local live music, unique pubs and restaurants, main street shopping, hiking, skiing, antiquing, lakes and waterfalls. The house is very private and you have it to yourself. However, please note that "large parties" are not allowed unless previously arranged during booking and my cleaner and other friends live on the same road and drive by the house frequently. There is one neighbor next to the house, but he is respectful of my guests and their privacy. However, my very good friend is 2 doors down if you need him and I am available by phone 24/7! There are many small towns close by that provide local restaurants, entertainment and shopping. The Poconos and ski resorts are 30-60 minutes away. You will need a car to make the most of your stay here. Please note that the house rules state there will be an additional nightly charge for each guest over 4 people. Additionally, our cleaning fee is a standard fee for a stay of 4 people or less who follow the check out guidelines and leave the house neat with all linens in the laundry. If additional cleaning is needed (aka. aftermath of a party, dishes not washed, excess bags of garbage, etc.), we will request an additional $100 cleaning fee to pay our cleaners for their additional time. In this case, pictures will be provided to illustrate the condition of the house. Finally, the house uses well water, which can smell slightly of sulfur when first used. Remember this is the county...If you are sensitive to natural smells, you may want to book another location. As you can see from my many reviews, most people don't even notice. THX!
