This charming apartment sits on the first floor of a restored granite stone house in the very heart of the 16th century village of Vinho in the beautiful Serra da Estrela natural park. The apartment, complete with a private balcony area, has been decorated with style and charm with every convenience you could want on your holiday. It's quite simply the perfect place from which to explore the history , hiking , wine , food and river beaches of the Serra da Estrela. Your apartment features a spacious living / dining area. A fully equipped kitchen includes a full-sized refrigerator, oven, hob, microwave, coffee machine and everything you need to cook up a hearty meal. Enjoy plenty of comfortable seating and a flat screen smart TV. A private balcony is perfect for drinks or dining out in the warmer months. Your first bedroom features a comfortable double bed (140x200cm) while the second bedroom includes two generous single beds. Both bedrooms are spacious and airy and both beds are made up with quality bed linen. Your bathroom has a walk in shower with body wash and shampoo provided. Vinho is one of the many historic villages in the high mountains of Portugal. Ten minutes from the beautiful city of Gouveia with it's rich history and twenty minutes from the city of Seia. There are wonderful country walks, Roman roads and bridges, architectural treasures as well as the exceptional food and wine for which the region has become so well known including the famous Serra da Estrela cheese. The cafe / bar, bakery and mini market are ten meters from your door providing almost everything you need including fresh bread baked right here in the village in wood fired ovens. The exceptional restaurant of Madre de Agua is an easy walk away or ride there on our new " Felt " bicycles. The village swimming pool and bar during the summer months is a five minute walk away as is the stunning 16th century church. The surrounding area has many superb typical restaurants a short drive away and there are Lidl and Intermarche supermarkets within two kilometers. Portugal's only ski resort is a 40 minute drive. Vinho is a three hour drive from Lisbon, four hours from Madrid and two hours from both Porto and Salamanca. Coimbra is a ninety minute drive. There are good train and bus services. You are just a few steps away from the Café Centrale, the village bakery and other amenities. To explore further in the village or surrounding area, we have two new "Felt" bicycles available for you.
