Elegant mountain residence in Colorina Fraz Poira

This top notch residential home is used only rarely by their lucky owners so that you will have a chance to enjoy it throughout various periods of the year. It sits on the north-facing side of the Orobian Alps looking at the Rhetic Alps in the much-famed Valtellina valley at 20 km from Lake Como and 80 km from the renowned ski resorts of Bormio and Livigno. Ideal for day trips high up into the mountains or to nearby mountain towns, you will enjoy the tranquil life of a true holiday. The house was refurbished to suit the current owners in their later years, floors are of cherry wood and everything has been thought through. The dominant bay window opens the view to the opposite mountain side and floods the ample living room with light. While the kitchen is accessed via outside stairs, the living room and small bathroom are reached after several stairs up while the bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the lower floor. Guests arrive through a minor road behind the bus stop and might park their car behind the bus stop or 100 meters further down the road for free. A local bus runs regularly between Morbegno and Sondrio as well. The nearest train station is a 1,5 km in San Pietro - Berbenno on the Morbegno - Sondrio line. Guests will be the only people in the house throughout their stay. We live in the house above and are available should you need information or require help. Colorina is a rural village 15 minutes from Sondrio where the number of milking cows exceeds the number of residents. The milk is renowned in all of Lombardy and we have an award-winning cowshed down the road. People are friendly and will give you a smile. We have had travellers with and without cars and all were happy. There are many sites to explore on foot, by bike (the Sentiero di Valtellina is right by), by car or by public transport. The nearest bus stop is 10 metres from the house. Please make sure you come to the right place: Colorina, Frazione Poira is next to Fusine village at 200 meters from the bridge to Fusine. There is another Poira at 30 minutes' from us. The house was refurbished with dedication. Please respect its quality inside and out. We will impose rigorous fines should we detect broken, missing or damaged items. Also, we appreciate if you let us know when things don't work so we can fix them as soon as possible to guarantee you the best possible stay you deserve. There is strictly no smoking in or around the house.
