Double room in Hackney, access to free gym
Cosy, double room in a friendly family home in Hackney - a fashionable zone 2 neighbourhood just a short ride from central London. Access to kitchen, bathroom and free gym! We're right next to lovely London Fields park with its swimming pool, tennis courts and picnic area, a few minutes' walk from Broadway Market with its cafes, bars and Saturday stalls, and 10 minutes from Dalston's nightlife. The room is clean and very comfortable with a double bed (new Casper memory foam mattress), large wardrobe and chest of drawers. All bed linen/towels provided. The flat is spacious and very safe (gated development). You also have access to: Spacious kitchen/diner with dining table, fridge freezer, cooker, washing machine, kettle, toaster, etc and usual china/utensils. Bathroom with shower over bathtub, sink and toilet. Second toilet. Onsite gym - fully equipped and free for guests. WiFi throughout. As well as their room, guests have full access to the bathrooms, kitchen/diner and gym. The living room however is reserved for family use. I live in the flat and also work from home so am available for guests at any time. I am happy to give you as much privacy and space as you want though. Hackney is packed with fantastic cafes, restaurants and bars, galleries, music venues and boutiques - and London Fields is the best bit. We're right next to the park with its Lido (outdoor, heated swimming pool), tennis courts, ping pong, barbecue area and the popular Pub on the Park (lovely pub with outdoor seating area overlooking London Fields). We're also a 5-minute walk through the park to Broadway Market (great cafes and a hugely popular street market every Saturday). We're a 2-minute walk from central Hackney, with its Picturehouse cinema, Hackney Empire theatre, supermarkets (Sainsbury's, Tesco, Lidl), great pubs, lots of fantastic Vietnamese, Turkish and Caribbean restaurants and the usual mix of pharmacies, dry cleaners, post office, etc. Victoria Park, with its Chinese pagoda, lakeside pavilion cafe, boating pond, etc, is a 25-minute walk away along Regent's Canal. Hackney is in Zone 2 of London meaning it is very central and convenient for travelling around. The Silverlink overland train service runs about every 15 minutes from Hackney Central station (5-minute walk from the flat) and is a super-fast way to get into central London (about 10 minutes to Highbury & Islington station, from where you can change onto underground Victoria Line), Hampstead Heath, Camden, Richmond, etc. In the other direction, Stratford (huge Westfield shopping centre, another Picturehouse cinema) is a few stops away. The London Fields overland station (few minutes from the flat) also has regular trains to Liverpool Street station. Hackney is also very well connected to the rest of London by bus, via the no. 30 (Angel/King's Cross/Euston), no. 38 (Victoria station), 55, (Tottenham Court Rd, Piccadilly Circus), 26 (Liverpool Street), 48 (London Bridge), etc. Bus stops are located less than a 5-minute walk from the flat. We have a dog - Jackie Chan, a 4-year-old beagle. He's very friendly and bouncy!
