The Lodge at Field View
A detached lodge on two floors which is ideal for a couple seeking a quiet break away. Downstairs has a comfortable lounge area with sofas and a TV, a well-equipped kitchen area with breakfast bar, a dining area and a shower room & wc. The spacious bedroom upstairs has a king-sized bed, smart TV, en-suite shower & wc, dressing area and ample storage space. Guests enjoy complete privacy in their own detached lodge within a rural setting, with open farmland to the front and the rear. The local village centre with its traditional pub, shop, and historical church is a short walk away along a quiet country road. The Lodge has off road parking area. Automated security gates and external lighting provide security at night. Guests have access to a paved patio area with table and chairs that are bathed in sunlight in the late afternoon and evening - ideal for relaxing at the end of a busy day. The hosts are available close by in the main dwelling at most times of the day to provide help and advice, recommendations, and as guides to the local area. We are located just a mile from the Tydd St Giles Golf and Leisure Complex with its renowned 18-hole golf course, nature trail, indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna, steam room and fitness suite, restaurant and bar, all in a beautiful rural setting in the heart of The Fens. The historic town of Kings Lynn is 12 miles away - the gateway to the Norfolk coast and nearby nature reserves famous for wetland birdlife. The Royal Estate of Sandringham is 30 minutes' drive away and offers woodland walks and other visitor attractions all year 'round. The North Norfolk coast with its wonderful beaches and unspoilt villages is just over an hour’s drive from the lodge. Norwich and Cambridge can be reached in an hour and a half, and Ely is less than an hour away by car. We are in a rural location so public transport is limited. There is an infrequent bus service from right outside The Lodge with bus services to nearby Wisbech and Long Sutton. The nearest railway station is Kings Lynn with frequent services to and from Cambridge and London. Alternatively you can take the non-stop intercity train service to London from Peterborough which is 35 minutes’ drive away. We are located on the National Cycle Route 1 which passes right outside the Lodge. But for non-cyclists, we would recommend getting around by car rather than public transport. Breakfast is not included. We are happy to provide you with a “Welcome Pack” which will include tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice, bread, butter, jam/marmalade, yoghurt, fruit and muesli/granola. There will be adequate supplies for two people for at least two days. The cost is £20. Please order this at time of booking and you will be contacted to confirm preferences and allergies.
