Large farmhouse apartment, garden & private pool

Casa Principal is a traditional granite farmhouse in the countryside of central rural Portugal. The self-contained, ground floor 74sqm apartment is spacious and comfortable. It has its own entrance with driveway parking and the private solar heated swimming pool/patio/bbq & garden are directly outside the apartment for exclusive use of apartment guests. There is access to a hot tub Oct-Apr. All windows have fitted flyscreens. Smoking permitted outside. Garden is fully fenced and gated. The garden is fully fenced, gated and full of fruit trees and colour. The sparkly, heated by solar cover, chlorinated pool is 2m at the deep end and perfect for a dip at any time of the day and is for your use only, it is not shared. It is surrounded by large patios, a gazebo with lounging furniture, umbrellas and mature trees so you can chose sun or shade. There are comfy sunbeds, dining table and chairs and a charcoal bbq. The apartment has it's own driveway/entrance so you have privacy at all times. The pool is open from April to October and is for your sole use. From October to April you have the opportunity to access a seperate area of garden with a jacuzzi/patio and bbq, this is accessed through the back part of the garden where we live. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with oven/hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine etc, with a good range of crockery and cutlery/utensils. The lounge has 2 large comfortable 3 seater sofas, large sofa bed, local satellite tv, dvd player and wi-fi access (Please note we are in Central Portugal where wi-fi is 4G and can be slow if everyone is on it, the speed is enough for social media etc but not for gaming or live streaming) The lounge has a 10kw pellet burner which keeps the whole apartment warm and toasty throughout the cooler months. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds which can be joined to make a large double if required. Both rooms have large wardrobes with drawer space, Bedroom 1 has extra drawers and hairdryer The bathroom has a large shower and heater for the colder months. Smoking is not permitted in the apartment, but there are designated areas outside for smokers. There is also a laundry room shared with us that guests can use, you have your own rotary washing line for drying. Parking for one car is within the grounds which are fully fenced and gated. If you have motorbikes/bicycles these can be stored in our garage. Covid 19 update - please note the guest space is not shared with anyone else. We (2 humans, 2 labradors, 6 ducks and a cat!) live on site in the first floor of the farmhouse but have our own outside private courtyard and back garden enabling you to have full and exclusive use of the pool and front patio/garden area. Out of season there is also a hot tub available for your use as the pool will be closed. We are here to help and answer any questions but we will respect your space and not intrude on your privacy. During the summer months we may have guests staying on the first floor of the house with their own seperate entrance, parking and garden area with hot tub at the back of the house. Brejo is a small village in the middle of a rural farming community surrounded by beautiful countryside with villages, rivers and mountains to explore. It is only 5 minutes from Tabua which has all the amenities of a Portuguese town including supermarkets, cafes/restaurants, hospital/health centre etc. The Sunday morning market is well worth a visit for a breakfast of bbq’d chicken/pork! Within the local area there are fantastic river beaches and the Serra da Estrela mountains to visit. It's a great area for cycling and hiking The silver coast is just over an hour to travel as well as major cities Coimbra (1 hr) and Tomar (1.5 hours). Casa Principal is only 5 minutes from the IC6 main transport route making all areas of Portugal quick and easy to explore. If you book the apartment when the pool is closed (Oct to April) you will have access to a seperate garden area as well which has the use of a jacuzzi, outside kitchen, patio and bbq. This area is fully fenced but on your way to it you will come into contact with us and our 2 very friendly labradors, our elderly cat Belle who can smell a sizzling sardine a mile away and our ducks who free-range. They are all super welcoming and enjoy welcoming and getting to know you.
