Casita on the Knoll, Isla Solarte, Bocas del Toro

The casita sits atop a knoll near jungle and bay on Solarte Island, facing west. It is a complete studio with kitchen, bath, living and sleeping areas as well as a large deck. Perfect for a week to a month of exploring the area. Perfect for a spot close to surfing! Living in the casita, is off grid—simple living, with the joys of nature all around— hiking; birdwatching and 2 kayaks, snorkel gear on loan. The entire casita, back forty where pineapples, coconuts, yuca and tropical flowers abound, and entrance dock and kayak storage area. We are available by email through the Airbnb app. We, or our friends at Casa de Tortuga can help with details or questions and tour or adventure ideas on Solarte and the entire Bocas area. Our place is close to both an indigenous village and nearby expat homes. Two great restaurants are within water taxi or kayak distance on Solarte for lunches and early dinners. Surfing spots are close on Carenero Island. There are reefs close-by for snorkeling or scuba diving. There are no roads or cars on Solarte. Water taxis to and from Bocas are $4 to $5 per person with higher costs at night. Please contact us about your flight into Bocas and make sure you discuss what you need to bring from Bocas. If we do not meet you, explain to a water taxi driver to take you to Casa de Tortuga over the water. This is right after turquoise Sol Bungalows. Our dock and house over the water has two white buoys in front. We have a new thatch roof. Make sure we know your arrival details so we can greet you and share our casita with you.
