Lake Cottage - Chelsea, Dexter, Ann Arbor

A cozy, comfortable vintage cottage offering lake views with private screened in porch & deck. The property is embraced by the 21K Acre Waterloo Recreation Area, one of the largest in Michigan. Take a hike, run or ski on the Waterloo-Pinckney trail and/or visit the Eddy Discovery Center all easily accessible via a small trail just a few steps down the street. Send us a message with questions on availability, etc. Spend the day fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the small, quiet and refreshing spring fed lake. Wildlife sightings include Blue Heron, Egret, Bald Eagle and more! Enjoy a game of outdoor ping pong or a family dinner on the concrete table. Paddle-board, Blue Kayak, paddle-boat, swimming raft and life jackets provided. **Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces between reservations. All areas except the attic and garage. We can be reached very easily and are close by, we also have friends in the area that can help out. Very quiet and serene area with an abundance of wildlife. A few of our Spring Lake neighbors are year round and others use their cottages for 2 or 3 seasons. The area is quite beautiful in all seasons, winter full moon evenings are amazing. Access to the Waterloo recreation area trails, lakes, and nature discovery center available via a small trail just down the street. (map provided in cottage) There is a small convenience store within a 2 minute drive (The Point) located at Glazier and Cavanaugh Lake Road - they have plenty of last minute items you might need during your stay. The town of Chelsea is nearby and has full service grocery stores, gift shops, great restaurants, bars and more! Check out the Guidebook for our local recommendations. You can park in front of the house and garage (2-3 spaces) or on the side of the road above the outdoor ping pong table. (~3 spaces) The road to the cottage is not paved, AWD recommended in colder months. - The cottage is on a large wildlife area and small lake which means chipmunks, spiders, insects and mice may make occasional visits. We have taken all precautions to prevent this including critter control work to seal all entry points. Please book another property if you are not comfortable with this possibility. - We have received a comment that the toilet is too close to the wall in the bathroom, please be aware and reach out if you need pictures or more information. Be aware this is an older (1940's) home and if this is not to your liking, book another property. - The road to the cottage is not paved, AWD recommended in winter months. - This home is not available for those with children under 5. - As this home is on a lake and large nature area, we cannot control sticks, tree/plant, goose/bird debris from being present. The home and area are rather rustic in nature.
