Offering welcoming accommodation for up to four guests, it is ideal for a wonderful family holiday exploring the surrounding region of Gloucestershire. The ground floor comprises an entrance hall, an open plan feature living/dining room with a cosy wood burner, kitchen, games room, and a separate toilet. On the first floor there is a living room, two lovely bedrooms and a family shower room. Outside, the cottage provides a sitting-out area in which to relax on the garden furniture, and private parking for two vehicles. Frampton-on-Severn boasts the longest village green in England, about 22 acres in size. A designated conservation area, there is an impressive range of architecture spanning several centuries from ‘Cruck Cottages’ to impressive Tudor and Georgian houses. The area enjoys many historical connections including The Manor, located on the Frampton Court Estate, reputedly the birth place of ’Fair Rosamund’ who was the mistress of King Henry II. Cricket is played on the green during the summer, there are two village pubs both serving food, and an annual village feast, sheep racing and the elver eating competition are just some of the events held throughout the year. Close to the Saul Canal and River Severn, there are many walks and cycle trails available, and there is an abundance of English Heritage and National Trust properties to explore throughout Gloucestershire. Close by family attractions include Slimbridge Wetland Centre, Berkeley Castle and Cattle Country Adventure Park. Historic Gloucester is just 10 miles from the village, proudly displaying its Norman cathedral, which has more recently been used for filming Harry Potter. The docks now host a designer outlet, restaurants and many events throughout the year, and neighbouring Cheltenham is famous for its race course, boutique shops and literacy festival. Frampton-on-Severn is located just off the M5, and the holiday accommodation is ideally located for exploring the Cotswolds. Within an hour’s drive, the honey coloured villages of the Cotswolds including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, The Slaughters and Chipping Campden, can all be found.
