Isobel’s Cottage (ref UK10903) is very spacious and has stone fireplaces and a feature bread oven in the living room. There are granite worktops in the kitchen, as well as a homely range. All three properties have large private gardens, which open onto a shared field with play facilities for the children and plenty of space to let off steam. Guests are also free to enjoy the owners 26 acres of farmland that surround the properties and which are home to the owner’s horses and sheep. On a chilly evening, why not curl up beside the cosy wood burner with a good book or enjoy a film together? North Devon has so much to offer for couples and families alike. The wonderful sandy beaches at Westward Ho!, Northam Burrows, Saunton and Croyde are perfect for sunbathers and surfers, or why not visit some of the local attractions such as The Milky Way, The Big Sheep or Arlington Court? Those feeling more active can try out the nearby North Devon Wakepark, The Ultimate Adventure and the famous Tarka Trail, which is perfect for those wishing to take a long walk or a cycle ride. There are also many wonderful pubs in the area. The regional town of Barnstaple is just 5 miles, with good shops and restaurants. The pannier market and Butcher’s Row are well worth a visit. Great Torrington, 6 miles known as the ’Cavalier Town’ since the Civil War of 1646, has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as the historic 1664 Civil War Centre, a delightful pannier market and the highly acclaimed Plough Arts Centre which houses a theatre, music, live entertainment, small cinema, café and art gallery.
