A small sandy bay speckled with rocky outcrops is close by and offers an ideal place to try a spot of fishing in the rock pools. Head up the beach for 2 miles until you reach Seahouses. The wide expanse of golden sandy beach Beadnell Bay is renowned for is within easy walking distance and is a popular destination for water-sports enthusiasts, including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. There are a couple of pubs serving food in the village along with a local shop. A wider selection of facilities are available in Seahouses, only a couple of miles up the coastline. Boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands depart regularly from the harbour and offer an idyllic way to observe the puffins and seals close at hand. The picture perfect village of Bamburgh, renowned for its impressive castle is a further 3 miles north. Just a few miles inland is the historic market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle. Visitors will also enjoy exploring Alnwick Garden – a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including the Grand Cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe!
