A short drive along the coast will take you to the beautiful beaches of Cardoness and Mossyard, where you can laze away a few hours or more under the sun. For the thrill seeker a visit to Laggan Outdoor Centre is a must, where you can have a go on one of the longest zip wire rides in the country. Inland is just as dramatic, with beautiful forests and a number of National Trust Gardens to explore, such as Threave Garden, 20 minutes away.
