Respecting the winery’s history, the Venetian castle and the settlement’s architecture, Villa di Capo offers the visitor a luxurious, elegant, tailor-made stay. The view of Kastelli, the Caldera and the Cretan sea, along with the peaceful feel, privacy and historical importance of the site, offer the visitor a unique experience in one of the most beautiful islands in the world: Santorini! Villa di Capo - Maria was named after the only daughter of the Arvanitis family. The wine processed in the main building, was later brought to this building to age and mature in oakwood barrels. Villa extends in 60m2 with one bedroom that sleeps 2 adults and 1 child. From this villa, you can enjoy the view of the Cretan Sea and the island of Anafi from your own private courtyard and let the view of the Venetian Castle, travel you back in time. Villa has a kitchen with a small dining table, that is fully equipped, a living room with a sofa bed ideal for a child, 1 bathroom and 1 WC, a flat 42” screen with satellite TV and Netflix, VDSL internet, safe, wardrobe and private parking space. Villa di Capo - Maria was after the only daughter of the Arvanitis family. The wine processed in the main building, was later brought to this building to age and mature in oakwood barrels. Villa di Capo, a compound on the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri in Santorini, was once a traditional winery owned by the family of Antonis and Theologini Arvanitis. Founded in 1926, the winery produced various wines made with grapes from the ancient vineyards of the island of Thira. Grapes were stomped with the makers’ feet at the winery’s main building (Villa di Capo-Antonis), and no mechanical presses were used. The grapes were stomped into must in the winepresses, which are preserved in their original state in the building. The must was later put into oakwood barrels and moved to the hollow building Villa di Capo – Maria, to age. The marble inscriptions, the oak barrels, the vineyard winch, the winepress, the clay pots and some of the tools used in the winemaking process, are all part of the Villa di Capo decoration, today. We are looking to respect the site’s history and give the visitor the chance to experience a journey to a long gone era, while all the same providing a unique experience of luxurious hospitality. Welcome to Villa di Capo!
