Meppen is a typical Dutch village with beautiful traditional farms – ideal for nature lovers! Enjoy the cosiness of Drenthe in the picturesque villages of Oud-Aalden, Zweeloo, Wezup, Benneveld, Gees and Orvelte. This tranquil environment is ideal for hiking and cycling through wooded natural areas. Visit Schoonoord and Noord-Sleen, where you can admire dolmens. Have a stroll in the city of Emmen, 15 km away. The village of Giethorn is also a pleasure to visit, in the car you can reach it in 45 minutes. Other interesting nearby attractions include the WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen, Kamp Westerbork, the Drents Museum in Assen, the Veenpark in Barger-Compascuum, the sheepfold in Exloo, the Planetron at Dwingeloo, Plopsa Indoor Coevorden and the Dwingelderveld National Park.
