Live Oak Cabin

A newer cabin is set among trees and grass with rock circular drive ways and across the street from The Little Red River, a blue ribbon trout river. A private (just for guests of this cabin) dock is available for use. This dock is covered and features ample seating, ceiling fans, rod holders, a fish cleaning station and a live fish box/basket. Features from the dock (besides great fishing) are wonderful views of sunsets and sunrises along with sighting of local wildlife, including river otters and other animals wondering along the banks of the river. Eagles often fly up and down the river searching fo their next meal. The covered and shaded dock provides a peaceful setting where fog often rolls up and down the river during the morning and evening hovering over the cold water of the The Little Red River. (Note: Only approved guests staying on site may use the dock. Any visitor(s) to the cabins must have owner's approval to use the dock.) Boats may be rented from Lobo Landing Camp (1-1/2 miles up river). A public boat launch is also located at that facility. Should you bring your boat you have ample parking.. Libby Shoals, a walk-in fly fishing state facility is 2-1/2 miles up river. Less than a mile down stream is Little Dunham Shoals, a barbless restricted fishing area on the river. Fish or just relax on the dock. It is a great place to get away and it is approximately 400' from the cabin (across the street and down a couple sets of stairs with walkways). The cabin is just 10 miles from the Damsite Recreation area on Greer's Ferry Lake. Greer's Ferry Lake is an outdoor enthusiasts' dream, with boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming, scuba diving and fishing opportunities. The Gardner Visitor Center is just west of the dam, with exhibits, a children's touch table, and a replica of the world record 40 lb. 4 oz. brown trout caught in the Little Red River downstream. The area is a hikers' delight, with many trails within 10 miles of the cabin. Try out Sugarloaf Mountain Trail, Mossy Bluff Buckeye Trail (from the Gardner Visitor Center) and Bridal Falls Trail (Sugarloaf, Mossy Bluff and listed as moderate and Bridal Falls as easy). Bring your canoe or kayak or rent one. Great float trips are available on the Litte Red.River. Discover downtown Heber Springs and its unique shops! Or dine out at a few great restaurants: Southern Girls BBQ in Pangburn, or along the Little Red RIver banks off of Hwy 110 for Cafe Klaser (private club) or Chuck's Dinner. Mack's Fish and Steak House is also inviting on Hwy 110. (Please note that Cleburne County is a dry county.) Or just stay at the cabin and cook your own trout with a full kitchen inside with a park-side charcoal grill right outdoors from the kitchen. This cabin has two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a comfortable mattress and two closets. The master bedroom has its own adjoining bathroom with separated double sinks and a walk-in shower. The master bedroom has two closets. The second bedroom features a queen size bed and a twin size bed with a closet. Note: the living area also has a full-size comfortable sleeper/sofa and bedding is available. The dining room area has a 42" round table with 5 chairs and the counter bar has 3 backed stools. The outdoor porch has a table and the porch is equipped with 7 chairs. Stainless steel appliances are within the kitchen, including a refrigerator with an ice maker, range/oven, microwave and dishwasher. Cabinets and drawers are filled with plates, glasses, and most other kitchen cooking and eating essentials. A 4 bread toaster and coffee pot are on the counter along with a selection of cutting boards and knifes. The laundry is right in front of the second bathroom with a full sized washer and dryer. The second bathroom features a tub/shower. The living area has a full-size sofa/sleeper, a chase lounge (suitable for a smaller child bed) and two comfortable chairs and includes a 40" flat screen TV with DirectTV with the "Entertainment Package" line up of channels including ESPN and ESPN2 for fall football games. Internet service is also provided. DVD player also connected. The living room also has a 16" free standing ELECTRIC Wood Stove Fireplace Heater. Living and dining areas feature a beautiful vaulted stained wood ceiling with dual ceiling fans. An outdoor fire pit is behind the cabin so bring some firewood and roast some marshmallows or hot dogs. Skewers are in the cabin.
