THE LITTLE HOUSE SLEEPS: 4 BEDROOMS: 2 BATHROOMS: 1 *LAKEVIEW (South Manistique Lake) *CITY-AREA HOME *ACROSS FROM ICE CREAM SHOP *BOATING LAUNCH RIGHT ACROSS RD. *PROPERTY NOT ON WATER *LIMITED PARKING IN FRONT OF HOUSE Come and enjoy this cozy little house right in small town Curtis. With the ice cream parlor, 2 bars, a little party store and boat launch all within steps from the front door. This is truly a place where you can park the car and relax. ATV and Snowmobilers are welcome! Enjoy the swing in yard, hammock, and bistro table on the front porch. This 2 bedroom sleeps 4 comfortably. So come on and fire up the propane grill as you gaze out at the lake across the way. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Air Conditioning: There is 1 window air conditioning unit. There is a wall fan as well for guests to use in bedroom #1. Bedroom #2 has a ceiling fan. Both bedrooms have electric wall heaters as well. ATV's: ATVs are Welcome! Animals: Deer, variety of birds, squirrels, bear, wolves, coyotes Bathroom: Full bath with walk in shower Beach/Swimming: There is a public beach (North Manistique) ½ mile away with picnic area and beach. Bedroom Configuration: Bedroom #1: 1 set of bunk beds (twins) Bedroom #2: 1 Full bed Boats: No boats Bugs: Typical Michigan bugs. May-flies in June are usually tolerable. Cell phone service: Good. You will need to step outside depending on services. Distances: * Pictured Rocks: 45 minutes * Oswald's Bear Museum: 45 minutes * Tahquamenon Falls State Park: 45 minutes * Mackinac Bridge: 1 hour and 30 minutes Dock: No dock Drinking Water: It is well water. Some guests may choose to bring bottled water for drinking. Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: No Fire-pit: Portable fire pit Fishing: Some common fish you will see in the nearby lake are walleye, perch, and bass. Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes, one is required to hold a fishing license. Click here to purchase your fishing license online. Grill: Propane Grill and propane is provided. Grocery Store: Store is ¼ mile up the road and a Dollar General ½ mile away. Handicap Friendly: Let us explain what we mean by handicap friendly…there is a zero-1 step entry into this home, and it is one level (a ranch-style home). The bathrooms and hallways are not up to official handicap standards and do not come equipped with special apparatus to help those in need. There are 4 steps leading out the backyard. Internet: YES! Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Parking: There is just enough room for 2 cars in the driveway. There is a parking lot nearby (at the community building- 1/4 mile- follow the signs near the driveway) that is large enough for trucks with trailers. Pets: No pets allowed at this property. Privacy: City like atmosphere with many things nearby. Small town atmosphere is better said. Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart! Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Click here to purchase your snowmobile trail permit. There is a parking lot right around the corner where semis park as well where you can leave your trailers. Space: 1 ranch, small home Televisions: Smart TV with streaming capabilities. One in each bedroom and one in living room. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though. Washer and dryer: No. Wood: Please bring your own wood.
