The Wellness Lodge: Unwind, Recharge, Rejunvenate
Unwind, Recharge, Rejuvenate
The Wellness Lodge offers something a little bit different from your usual beach getaway. Tucked between beach and bush, located across the water from Palm Beach. Only an hour's drive from Sydney CBD to Palm Beach Ferry Wharf. Board the ferry or book a water taxi to transport you across sparkling Pittwater to start your adventure. Immerse yourself at The Wellness Lodge. Mackerel feels like an island - no cars, no shops and no crowds means you'll likely have the beach and bush tracks to yourself. At Mackerel, adults and children unplug - kids climb trees and jump off the wharf, learn to fish, build sandcastles, collect shells and regularly spy wallabies, kookaburras and crabs, and if they are lucky a goanna, a starfish, a dolphin, even an elusive lyrebird. Adults love the empty beach, the sparkling water for ocean swims, bushwalks bursting with native botanicals and breathtaking views, sunset beach walks and the return to a simple way of life. Mackerel Lodge is designed to happily accommodate a couple, a family or two small families (the bunk room is a particular hit with kids), and is the perfect house for a relaxed week-long stay, a long weekend getaway from the city or several lazy weeks in summer. It's also the ideal place for your next inter-generational holiday (bring the grandparents, parents and the kids). The Wellness Lodge is also peaceful and beautiful location for small retreats - the Balinese style style outdoor gym and yoga space which has a full length artisan wood framed fish pond at the rear set against a backlit stone wall is a captivating space. The outdoor cinema is a huge hit with kids (young and old!), they love the large screen, streaming capability (Netflix, Stan, Disney, YouTube anyone?) and the surround sound with the bubbling fish pond in the background to top it off. Oh, and don't forget to break out the popcorn maker in advance, and then just sit back, relax and enjoy the evenings showing. Couples love the living room in the evening, with its cosy woodfire, a glass of red and a board game, or watching a movie together with a bowl of popcorn. Kids love exploring in the backyard searching for the perfect 'marshmallow stick' for the evening's fire or playing in the front yard, where they'll spend hours in the cubby house; before they head to bed happily in the kids' bunk room. The house has two living areas (one indoor, one outdoor), a huge dining area that can easily cater for large groups, and four comfortable bedrooms over two levels, meaning there’s plenty of space for the whole family/s to be together, or for adults and kids to break out into separate relaxation areas. Sleeping: On the ground floor a large queen-sized bedroom lies opp. ‘the bunk room’, perfect for children, it sleeps 4 (2 singles and a queen). Upstairs: a private single bedroom sits beside the bathroom, and opp. there's another large queen size bedroom with its own Juliette balcony accessed through sliding doors. Entertaining and Dining: The living room flows from the kitchen and features a widescreen TV (can stream NetLife, Stan, Disney, YouTube etc), a range of comfortable, stylish couch / seats, and a cupboard chock full of board games, books and playing cards for kids and adults and a wood fire as well as an integrated heating/cooling system. On the front deck, there is a little hide-away for those moments when you feel like some me-time - a hanging swing bench perfect to lounge in with a good book or relax and have a little snooze on, The kitchen has ample bench space for multiple cooks and is fully equipped for holiday cooking and entertaining, there's a large fridge/freezer with ice maker, coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, stovetop, pots and pans, chef’s knives, baking tins and dishes, platters, trays, kids plates and cups, plenty of champagne and wine glasses, and a picnic basket for beach picnics. Overlooking the lush National Park, the spacious covered back deck includes an outdoor living and dining area, it's the perfect place to relax after a day at the beach or a walk in the national park. The long dining table seats 12 happily. The outdoor kitchen has a sleek Italian gas BBQ, bar fridges, and is fully equipped with everything a budding BBQ chef may require. There is also a German Buschbeck wood BBQ / wood fire pizza oven in the backyard, break out the pizza dough, get adventurous with the toppings and finish off with some yummy toasted marshmallows for dessert! The deck is the perfect spot to chillax with birdsong soundtrack, read in solitude with a cup of tea on the outdoor sofa, relax with a sundowner after a day at the beach, play a board game or sort and count shells with little ones. Wallabies often hop past and kookaburras and lorikeets visit. The house is cool in summer and warm in winter thanks to the ducted reverse cycle (hot and cold) Air-Conditioning.
