Located on the ground floor of our primary residence with its own separate entrance, this fully equipped studio apartment was built in the original stable area of a 150 year old carriage house. On-site parking in a safe neighborhood of high end converted warehouse condos. Just steps from Excelsior, Marriot, Central Market, Tellus360, Fulton Opera House, art galleries, and everything Lancaster City has to offer. Smoking is not permitted and pets are welcome for an additional $20. It took two years to design and what I call ‘rustically renovate’ this 150 year old structure. We maintained as many original details as we could and brought in character when we couldn’t. A custom queen sized murphy bed folds up and away allowing for a comfortable open living area with plenty of seating, a gas fireplace and large screen TV. Galley kitchen with gas stove, fridge, microwave, keurig with fixin's, all utensils and cookware included. Full tile shower and full sized washer & dryer. Our garage, the Airbnb suite, and the Airbnb outdoor living/courtyard space are on the ground floor and our living spaces are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We generally enter our house through an internal door in the garage, but we each have our own individual entry doors off the courtyard. Our dogs (Fiona - yorkie and Babette - lab/pit mix) have 24/7 access to that courtyard by way of a doggie door which can be locked by the guest from the outside. We also have an office in the apartment house on the opposite end of the yard so occasional overlaps in the courtyard do occur. Free onsite covered parking for 1 car and self check in with a convenient keypad lock. Although the suite has it’s own private outside entrance, our dogs and myself are often passing through the guest patio area to reach the shared yard. We also have an office in the house at the other end of the yard and if I'm working on a project, that could mean many trips back and forth. If we bump into each other I generally have brief conversation but other than that guests have privacy. I am a Lancaster native and am happy to help with information, recommendations, or directions. Centrally located on a really cool alley that's quiet and close to everything. Safe neighborhood of high end condos in renovated warehouses. Funky/artsy little street. Walking distance to everything Lancaster City has to offer: Excelsior, Marriott/Convention Center, Fulton Opera House, Tellus 360. Park your car here and walk to everything downtown. Drivable sights like Amish Country is 15 minutes and Hershey Park is 30 minutes. We are a very dog friendly neighborhood. The yard is shared with my 2 dogs and 3 dogs who live in the ground floor apartment at the other end of the property. All the dogs are super people lovers, and all (except for 1 of mine) are excellent friends to other dogs. Because of her, I've provided a gate so that guests can block our dog door from the outside (just make sure she's not already in the yard and remember sometimes she likes to sleep outside during the night). This gate should be used whenever your dog will be using the yard and also whenever your dog will be walking from the suite door to the parking area. The majority of our guests bring dogs, we just need to communicate and work together to make sure they don’t accidentally meet each other. If you are bringing a pet, our fee is set to be a flat $20 per stay. You are welcome to select the "Pet Fee" option or leave $20 cash before checkout. Smoking in or around the house is an absolute No.
