What's nearby: For outdoor adventures, head into Dosewalips State Park, a 425-acre park with a boat ramp and 5,500 feet of shoreline, just four miles south. Or visit the Olympic National Forest, a short five-and-a-half-mile drive away. Mt Walker (eight miles), Murhut Falls (17 miles), Port Townsend (33 miles), and Seattle Ferry Terminal (57.6 miles) are also worth visiting! You'll be just a short walk to Hjelvicks store and kayak rentals for exploring Jackson Cove. The nearest boat launch is at Point Whitney, about three miles up the road. Six miles away, take a short and easy hike out to Rocky Brook Falls to watch the waters plunge 229 feet into the Dosewallips River. Triton Cove State Park (a Discover Pass is required) is also just 12 miles away offering views of migrating elk and a boat launch into Hood Canal. And if you need to stock up on groceries or grab a bite to eat, take a short drive north into Quilcene, less than nine miles from your door.
