Not only are these properties close to the river, but the owner also owns other riverfront so if guests have a valid fishing licence and bring their own equipment, they can fish easily nearby. Each lodge has a lawned area beside the river, and are designed in ‘upside-down’ style, enjoying an upstairs sitting-room leading on to a furnished balcony, where guests can relax in style and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river. All the lodges have been furnished and equipped to four star standard. Day motor launches that accommodate up to 8 passengers are included free of charge with each property and these can be moored alongside the lodges. The motor launch is chargeable during Whitsun and Summer Holidays, direct from the owner at a preferential rate. The properties are situated in Wroxham which is well known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’ and has a selection of cafes, restaurants and shops within a few minutes’ walk. The wider area is also criss-crossed by numerous footpaths and cycling trails. One of the best ways to enjoy the Broads is on the water by motor launch, or take one of the organised day trips arranged by the neighbouring boatyard. On the water, the beauty of the Broads can be truly experienced with its extensive wildlife (ducks, geese, swans, spoonbills and herons) and its sleepy Broads villages with their pretty flint cottages and attractive churches. The coast is within easy reach (12 miles) with lovely sandy beaches and a string of villages spreading northwards to the bustling sea towns of Cromer and Sheringham. Alternatively, Norwich is less than 10 miles away with its cathedral, castle, museums, theatres, excellent shops and restaurants. National Trust properties well worth a visit are Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall, both within easy reach. Nearest shops are 500 yards. Moorings for motor launches are outside the property and life jackets are available free of charge. Pet life jackets available on arrival for a refundable £10 deposit. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 32 guests. Free WiFi A complimentary day boat is included in your booking during non-school holiday dates. The dayboat will not be supplied between 27th May and 5th June and between 22nd July and 4th Sept 2022 (Whitsun and Summer School Holidays). Customers can hire a dayboat during these dates, direct from the owners at a 10% discount. At Christmas and New Year, the availability of the dayboat is subject to weather conditions. A mooring for the boat is provided near the property. Please note the neighbouring owner's boatyard can be busy in peak season. If you are booking an all male/female party you will be asked for a £200 security deposit on arrival. If booking CHN & CHM together this will be increased to £400. There is a £50 security deposit payable for bookings with pets in the party. This deposit will be taken by the owner either by credit card or cash on arrival, and will be refunded on departure after the property has been checked. The stairs are steep open tread stairs and the gaps between the spindles on the staircase are more than 10cm, a river/stream is close to the property, extra care must be taken if you have young children in the party. The Norfolk Broads National Park is a unique and beautiful wetland that offers stunning scenery, nature and activity for all. Norwich is ’A Fine City’ and just a short drive away, where you can visit the castle, cathedral and the array of excellent restaurants and pubs following a day of shopping. The North Norfolk Coast is also close by with Cromer, Sheringham and Wells-next-the-Sea worth a visit. Beach 12 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants 500 yards from Barnes Brinkcraft Reception.
