It is 9 minutes from Jacobs Pillow performance dance center and 20 minutes from Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and venue for popular musicians all summer long! The Neighborhood: The house itself was built by Marcus Broga. His great grandfather came to America from France with his parents, but was orphaned on the ship. He made his way to Pennsylvania where he was adopted by another family, but kept his name. When he grew up he moved to Becket and became a farmer. He fought with George Washington during the American Revolution. Marcus Broga purchased the land and built the house in Otis. There are still members of the Broga family tree living in the Berkshires. Centrally located for quick walks. For breakfast, the Farmington River Diner is walking distance. Fratelli's Restaurant & Pizza is across the street and down 2 houses (walking distance). The Grouse House is 0.6 mile from the house. Our favorite a short drive away is The Knox Trail Inn (5 minute drive). Other Things to Note: Important: Our properties are protected by SUPERHOG, a digital trust platform. Damage: Your rental includes an accidental reported damage waiver fee up to a maximum of $800. Therefore, the cost to repair any ACCIDENTAL and REPORTED damage to the rented property including any missing or broken items up to a maximum of $800 will be covered at NO CHARGE to you AS LONG AS the damage is reported to your Host before you depart. Any damage we deem to be purposeful or negligent or damage not reported will be charged to you. Please report any damage that you notice when you check-in to avoid getting charged for damage you didn't create. RENTAL AGREEMENT: We will send you a rental agreement within 6 hours of booking. This is due within 24 hours or we have the right to cancel this booking with a 15% cancellation fee! Part of the agreement: In respect to our home and our neighbors please review and accept our rental agreement. Fines will be assessed, sometimes over your security, if you do not abide by the following rules: -No additional guests without host approval -No parties. Fines assessed for additional cleaning, trash removal and property damage. A party is grounds for termination of stay and immediate removal with no refund. -Shoes must be taken off upon entering the house. -Smoking is strictly prohibited both inside and outside within 50ft or near a window. -No pets are allowed at the property. -We have parking for up to 3 cars. -No sublet, and no packages may be sent to the house without host approval. -No refunds to be given for shortened stays and for any cable, internet, WI-FI, heating, cooling, or power outages or other acts of nature. If you are booking through VRBO: You agree that The Host will charge your card for the full payment of the stay 24 hours after booking. Any payments by VRBO (service fees) will be charged separately.
