This beautiful colombage house and its adjacent garden with a terrace beside a lake are set in the 43 acre estate of the owner’s home, and have superb views over the surrounding countryside. The house is simply furnished in a traditional French style. There are around walks to enjoy and the woodland abounds with wildlife, the lake is well stocked with carp and there is a small rowing boat available for guests. The charming nearby town of Beaumont-le-Roger has shops and restaurants and a weekly market to explore, while just a little further north are the châteaux at Harcourt and Bec Hellouin with its impressive abbey. The coastline of upper Normandy is within an hours drive and has the beautiful old port of Honfleur and the stylish beaches of Deauville on offer, while the same distance east takes you to Paris or to Monet’s garden at Giverny.
