Enjoy your vacation with a unique combination of mountain and sea, finding tranquility just 3’ walk from the central square of the picturesque village Milies. Relax in the courtyard, drink crystal clear spring-water from the old fountain surrounded by flowers and the soothing sounds of nature. Indulge in the spectacular panoramic view at your private balcony. At the upper floor, a big dining room, a comfortable kitchen and a small wc are on the same level. Τhe "hagiati" a typical traditional architectural feature of the area, most commonly known as "balcony", provides any time of the day endless view until the sea. At the lower floor there are two separate bedrooms, one with a big double bed and one with three single beds. Two also separate toilets are close by, one smaller with a shower and one big with a bathtub. From the lower floor you can get to the courtyard where you can drink pure water from the private fountain of the house and enjoy dinner at the big stone table. The house itself has a long and distinguished history. Built in the mid 18th Century, it was the birthplace of two important personalities. The scholar of Enlightenment Daniel Philippidis (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and the mayor of Milies Argyris Philippidis, who was responsible for extending the famous steam train line to the village of Milies (which still runs today). There is a bust of Argyris situated on the way to the station of Milies. She is the latest descendant of this illustrious family, and she has spent many happy summers since childhood in this house, so you are in good hands. As Milies straddles the Pelion peninsula, you have a great choice of swimming locations, either in the calm waters of the Pagasetic Gulf to the South, or in the crystal water of the Aegean Sea to the North. Milies is a traditional village, where you can arrive by car, bus and train, 365 klm from Athens and 28 from the biggest nearby city, Volos. At the same bus station in Volos, local buses can bring you to Milies, while there is also a direct connection with the nearby Airport. From Milies bus routes to many other villages and beaches are accurate but not so frequent. Renting a car will provide you with more independence. There are 2 parking areas entering Milies, one just before the church on your left and another one a bit higher. Descending the cobbled road, from the first parking area, you will reach the house, in 3' walk.
