Cozy Lakefront Log Home

Our home is on Shagawa Lake across from the town of Ely. There is a wonderful area down the steps to relax by the water in a secluded bay, viewing loons, eagles, beavers, otters and lots of other wildlife right in the bay. Enjoy a good sweat in the wood fired sauna and then swim out to the floating platform. It's an easy paddle to explore a group of islands just outside our bay. This house has beds for eight people with three queens and a trundle-twin. There are also two large couches and an inflatable twin for extra sleeping needs. There is a jetted Jacuzzi tub in the main bath, and a pool table in the basement which walks out to the patio looking over lake. There are two kayaks and a large canoe for guests to enjoy. It is less than a ten minute drive to town. Multiple hiking areas are near the property, and BWCA entry points are close by as well. Shagawa Lake boasts great fishing and recreation. Semers park has a public beach, picnic shelter, and trails directly across the lake. There are several resort lodges on Shagawa, two with restaurants, and fishing boat and pontoon boat rentals are also available right on the lake. The cabin works great for a cozy spot to base your snowmobile or cross country skiing adventures. We have two pairs of snowshoes you are free to use. Giants Ridge ski resort is 45 minute drive.
