A cottage from the 1700s, updated for comfort but retaining some of its historic features. All on one floor with three bedrooms, a double and two singles, a cosy sitting room with Freeview TV and DVD player . The dining room is furnished with antiques including an oval table and chairs to seat six, opening onto a spacious kitchen with cooker, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the utility room. There is a large family bathroom with bath, shower, double sink unit and w c. Outside there is ample space for sitting or dining and private parking in the driveway. The outlook from the gate is across fields and the Fen washlands with a Nature Reserve not too far away. The North Bank by the river Nene is a popular spot for fishermen. Whittlesey has good transport links, with a bus service and a train station with direct links to Cambridge, Ely and Peterborough. Nearby is a Bronze Age settlement Flag Fen and a short drive will take you to Holme Woods, the site of the ancient Whittlesey Mere, drained in 1850.
