This 3 acre hidden gem is tucked away in the woods of the Catskills. It's a wonderful getaway from the city or any bustling lifestyle. The outdoor fire pit and hot tub are both the perfect settings for serenity. When you come up here you can enjoy hiking, cooking, swimming or simply lounging & listening to our record collection and watching nature exist around you. Our house is down the street from Washington Lake private beach association. The cabin is situated in its own little forest surrounded by giant moss covered rock formations. The cabin has recently been renovated (new guest room, brand new wood floors and new gas stove fireplace). We love how vast the backyard is and how close we are to the lake, small town restaurants, skiing and hiking. Don't be surprised if you enjoy your morning coffee on the deck while watching a family of deer trot by. We have a key code on the door so you will not need to get a key. You'll be given the code before you arrive. You'll have access to our private lake association. There is a shore and a place to lay your chairs and blankets out. It is kid friendly- there is a sandbox and a play kitchen. The lake is a 4 minute walk or a 1 minute drive. During the summer months there is a floating dock to jump off of. There is no lifeguard. You'll be provided a list and directions to hiking, canoeing, rafting down the Delaware, and our favorite outdoor pizza spot (seasonal). We have two tubes for use at the lake. Towels can be provided. We will be able to help you and your guests out via text or email but will not be in the area. Sullivan County is really a great area to be when visiting upstate. There are many farm to table restaurants, farmers markets, beautiful waterfalls, breweries, hiking, swimming, skiing, snow boarding and rafting. We'll leave you a list of our favorite spots. Driving is much easier than any other form of transportation. Its a 2.5 hour drive from NYC (not considering normal traffic) and around 1.5 hours from North NJ. Get a car with four wheel drive. You can take a train from NYC to Port Jervis and then hop in a cab to the house which is around 30 minutes away and costs about $40. Watch out for deer while you're driving. We are in the country which means we are prone to normal country occurrences like power outages during windy rainstorms or for no good reason. We have a few flashlights around the house in that case. You will probably need a car with four wheel drive or all wheel drive in the winter months. We are not responsible for natural occurring allergens in the air at the house or allergies surrounding outside. We are not responsible for snow in the yard - remember this is the country and its supposed to be enjoyable but not everything is perfectly manicured 24/7. The snow in the driveway will be plowed as much as possible but please be careful on the deck; sometimes it can be slippery. Please only park in the circle driveway. Do not park your car anywhere beyond the wooden planks.
