The Presidential Suite at Highland House

Highland House is a unique space, owned and operated by Lyon College and available for both overnight stays as well as events. Located across the street from the college, the area is quiet and walkable, while just a few blocks away from 2 major highways. Guests have access to the entire first floor and all of its common areas, in addition to your private suite. In addition to your room on 3rd floor, a set of two rooms are available for rent separately on 2nd floor. All exterior doors and bedroom doors have keycode, magnetic lock access. A unique 4 digit code will be provided the morning of your stay. Entering the House: The easiest way to enter the house is through the garage. Enter your code, press star, and enter the lower level. The stairs lead up into the main house and common areas. You can also enter through the back door, facing the woods and patio. Enter your code, press star, and quickly jerk the door toward you before pushing open into the house. This allows the magnetic strip to deactivate. Finding your room: The Presidential Suite is located on the third floor. Take the stairs all the way to third floor, Enter your 4 digit code to enter the suite. Campus security is available 24/7 for emergencies, the phone number is provided in the rooms and common areas, along with the highspeed WiFi access information. Holly Room, located at the top of the stairs, is home to a college administrator and caretaker for the home: Dr. David Hutchison, Vice President for Advancement. His cell is listed as the host phone number and should be called if security cannot be reached. Stroll over to the campus during the day, where we have extensive hiking trails, outdoor activities, and the Salty Dog Cafe, with delivery available. Batesville is a fantastic area, full of outdoor activities, restaurants, shops, and a host of other awesome things to do. Independence County is, however, a dry county. Alcohol IS SOLD for consumption at many restaurants in the city, and guests are allowed to bring in alcohol with them, but alcohol is not sold to take home in stores within the county. So come prepared!
