We try to arrange to be onsite for your arrival, but otherwise we provide all the information you need to access the house and enjoy your visit. The house and it's systems are all in good working order, but someone is available should you have a problem requiring assistance. The house is in historic Fitzwilliam, located in the SW corner of New Hampshire in what is known as the "Monadnock Region" (named for the famous Mt. Monadnock and a 15 minute drive from the property). It is beautiful, rural country and a great escape from the pace of city life. Laurel Lake is one of the few spring-fed lakes in the area and has a public boat launch. Nearby towns of interest are Keene (20 minutes), Jaffrey (15 minutes) Peterborough (20 minutes) and Brattleboro, VT (30 minutes). Antique shops, art galleries and music festivals are just some of the local attractions. There is great hiking on Mt. Monadnock with views all the way to Boston from the summit. The house is not near any public transportation and requires a car for access. The nearest P.T. is a bus station in Keene, a commuter rail station to Boston located in Fitchburgh (45 minutes away) and airports in Boston and Albany, NY (both 1 1/2 hours away). The house is rented for a 1 week minimum. Summer and Early Fall Only. The house is located 4 miles from the center of historic Fitzwilliam, NH on a beautiful country road. The tennis court is old, but functional. Our waterfront has a good sized dock and a raft, with 2 kayaks and a canoe. It is a 5 minute walk down a hill through our woods to get to the lake. There are two full-size picnic tables for meals outdoors. The house has 1 land line, but no internet or other electronics like computer or TV. Cell service is limited and can be spotty. Long distance calls on the land line require a calling card.
