Addison is located midway between Acadia National Park and Eastport (U.S. eastern most land mass). We are 1 hr. east of Ellsworth Me. and 1/2 hour west of Machias Me. Eastern harbor is a picturesque, active working lobster fishing environment in Washington County. We are the largest producer of bush blueberries, balsam wreaths for Wreaths Across America and one of the largest contributors of fresh caught lobsters in Maine. Come visit us on the "Bold Coast" and be the first to see the sunrise. Our European cottage styled Bed and Breakfast accommodates 6 people. An additional common space provides two double fold down Murphy beds, for an extra fee of $25/per person per night. We will make this common space private if your family or party requires the use of this area. (If there are more than 6 in your party, we can accomodate 2 additional guests in our Porto Alba suite. Please book our separate listing for Porto Alba should you require space for 8.) Our "internet cafe" and lower level common space are available to all guests. Our breakfast hours are between 8 and 10 am. Our continental breakfast is included and available for early and late risers. Quoddy Head Lighthouse and Eastport, our easternmost landmass, has the highest tides in the continental U.S. (2 hours). Acadia National Park is one of the oldest and most visited in the country, which is located on Mount Desert Island (2 hours). Roosevelt's Campobello International Park in Canada, the summer retreat of Pres. FDR., bring your passport (2 hours). Bar Harbor our local "tourist trap" and port for many cruse ships around the world (2 hours). "Downeast"- will provide you an authentic experience of where land and sea come together. Your personal form of transportation is the only way to visit us. Enjoy hiking, boating, fishing and kayaking or watch shore birds and eagles soar as you relax. Eat fresh caught lobsters from our local fishermen. Watch clam diggers dig in local tidal coves and flats. Visit our three local light houses, walk the local beaches and visit our many islands. We are a 2 hour drive from the Bangor airport and a 1 hour drive to the Bar Harbor airport. Visiting down east is truly - "the way life should be"!
