Quaint little Cabin nestled against lookout mountain and downtown Del Norte, CO. Cabin is neighboring a hiking and mountain biking trail and in walking distance to shops, a microbrewery and restaurants, 40 minute drive to Wolf Creek ski area, numerous mountain trails and roads, fishing near by on the Rio Grande and mountain lakes. Very outdoorsy and great for couples and solo adventurers. Del Norte Pine house is a log cabin with all pine construction and furniture, It's nice and cozy in the winter and cool in the summer with the windows open and breeze flowing through, The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with dresser and closet. Second Bedroom has a Queen/single bunk bed with a dresser and closet and a small loft upstairs has a queen floor mattress Walk in shower with shampoo/conditioner, towels and washcloths, full kitchen with everything you need for cooking and dining. A TV with a DVD player with a big selection of movies to choose from. No cable. No Wifi as of now. The cabin is a self check in and check out. Instructions on how to access will be given after a quest books. We will be available anytime to answer questions or offer recommendations. Formerly a stage stop and a rowdy, ragtag supply town for miners, this town surrounded by 3,778 acres of public lands features tremendous outdoor adventures. Hiking trails reveal massive peaks, rivers twisting through canyons and forests of aspen and pine. Lookout Mountain Park, home to the 8,476-foot summit that shares its namesake, has 8 miles of singletrack looping trails. Meanwhile, a steep 1-mile trail to Lookout Mountain's summit offers breathtaking panoramas of the San Luis Valley and upper Rio Grande corridor. Just outside Del Norte awaits Penitente Canyon for devout rock climbers and bicyclists. Back in town recreation boasts the Three Barrel Brewing Company, Colorado Grille & Tap House, Carthers Roadhouse, the Windsor Hotel Restaurant, 1874 Food Truck, The Perk coffee shop, Boogies family restaurant, Chavolos Mexican restaurant, Country Family Inn Restaurant, Subway and several local shops including Haefeli's Honey farms and Mountain Aire Boutique. Those interested in Colorado history should stop at the Rio Grande County Museum and Cultural Center, housing arrowheads, minerals and other relics from earlier times.
